Hello, my name is Joana Mendes and I'm the great granddaughter of the first owner of the Windmill. André was his name and he built the windmill in 1900.
I grew up in the windmill. I played around it, run up down the hill, watched the Mill's house being built, slept on hammocks and most of all absorbed the pleasure of wild nature.

As I grew I wanted to experience other things and studying in Lisbon brought me the independence I was searching for. But life had other surprises for me and in 2014 I was back in Algarve.

I took the time to rediscover and improve who I truly am. At this point I met Renata who talked about meditation, mindfulness and their impact on her life. I am a bit sceptic so I decided to try and see for myself.

Now I'm dedicated to bring that consciousness, awareness and calmness into Molinum ad Mare and our guests. The connection between Mindfulness and Molinum ad Mare takes me back to the community spirit of the windmill in 1900, and this is what I love.
