I love Turkey & particularly Sogucak & my villa there — I called it Xanadu (meaning—idyllic, exotic, or luxurious place) because when I'm there I feel like I'm in heaven. I love and take great pride in my villa which is fully furnished and very comfortable.
I fell in love with Sogucak the moment I arrived there!
It is such a peaceful old world kind of place.
Set on a hillside with beautiful sea views… the delightful shade of blue by day becomes amazing shades of warm pink with tones of yellow, oranges and red during spectacular sunsets in the evening.
I love sitting on the terrace at any time of the day or night... listening to the sounds of nature, fascinated by the picturesque views of the sea, mountains, & wonderful olive grove next door all lead to a luxurious sense of tranquillity... no matter how often I return it is always a pleasure & amazing... I love its remoteness yet its close proximity to the lively Kusadasi town centre.
The old world feeling reminds me of my childhood, when fresh fruit & vegetables picked & sold within a day, was the norm, as was free range eggs & chickens, in Sogucak it is still the norm & I love that.
I eat & enjoy the most delicious food there, sea bass & lamb are my favourites & such good value.
I hope to live there for at least half the year in the future.
I totally relax while staying in my villa... it is so tranquil there... I come home feeling totally refreshed.

Xanadu was a lovely 'home away from home' villa. The setting has the advantage of being away from the crowds and still within easy driving distance of beaches and the buzz of Kusadasi.
