David, a former oceanographer, has been visiting St. Thomas for over 30 years. He was drawn to the island’s diving, fishing, sailing, beaches, and overall natural beauty. Lucy, a communications executive, immigrated to the US from Slovenia and has traveled to beautiful spots all over the world, including the Caribbean. She fell in love with St.Thomas, and with David!
It was inevitable that Fairwinds would become their second home and the venue for their 2003 wedding. “Fairwinds was always a magical escape from high-pressure, big-city jobs. We wanted to offer guests the same experience and have been renting the villa to visitors for almost 20 years. We live in Rhode Island now, but still enjoy vacations at Fairwinds. It's the only place where we can completely relax, unwind, and slow down the pace of the world. "
