Hi I'm Becca, currently 24 years old, and working towards my BBA in marketing and B.A. in psychology from University of St. Thomas in Houston.

The last few years have been exciting for me. In 2013 I had the opportunity to take some time from university to go on a trip around the world with my grandmother. Of course I jumped at the chance and off we went for 4 months on the MS Amsterdam. I came back a completely different person and travel became an indispensable part of my life.

Not only did I get to see and experience in real life what I had only ever read in history books, but it really changed my life in a concrete way... Along the way I dropped 40 lb! When I got home I was inspired to lose a total of 100 lb alongside my family. My mom, dad and I motivate and help each other meet our goals to this day. Ironic how it's all from losing weight on an all you can eat cruise ship.

Since then a lot has changed. I once again seized the opportunity to go around the world this past January, which was just as amazing an experience. I've been to over 60 different countries, six continents, love experiencing new cultures, cuisines, and most of all people. By next year I will be shaking my travel bug for a little while and settling in Mérida, Mexico.

I'm following my parents, who all ready to start their new life in Mérida. My mom has been working in Mexico City for 20+ years and decided she wanted make her dream home in Mérida. My family and I have been working in and visiting Mexico ever since I can remember, especially the Yucatan. Now we are excited to fully immerse ourselves into the Yucatecan culture and build our vacation rental business together, Burro y Flauta. We hope to get others just as excited about this beautiful city as we are.
