I am from Santa Fe, New Mexico. My 1st visit to Costa Rica and Nuevo Arenal was back in 1976... a long time ago. I've seen many changes since then and the Lake Arenal/Volcano Arenal region is now one of the most popular and visited areas in of all of Costa Rica . I built Villa Encantada in 1996 and have been renting it ever since, hosting many thousands of guests over the last 19 years. It's been an rewarding evolution and now my principal efforts go into making sure that our guests have the best vacation of their lives. I live here at Nuevo Arenal full time with my family, having built a 2nd home nearby as Villa Encantada is rented more often than not (Gracias a Dios!). By being here in the area full time, I am able to welcome guests to the villa and help them get the most out of their time at the villa and the area... and continue my "work in progress" of 19 yrs in making Villa Encantada a DESTINATION, rather than just a place to sleep.
