About the Owners: We are business professionals. For years our retail souvenir outlets anchored either end of the Victoria Conference Centre directly behind the Empress Hotel. As a team, we committed to creating an excellent customer experience. Our efforts were rewarded as people returned year after year and our little business ‘took off’. At one point, the City of Victoria honoured us with its coveted hospitality award based on their exit surveys and direct visitor feedback. We completed a successful sale of that business in the spring of 2002.
In 2009, having built a successful consulting practice in business management, we purchased our lot, helped design, and had our dream home custom built. We never lost sight of the joy we derived from helping others to fully experience this amazing part of the world and back then the seed was planted to ‘someday’ create a first-class BnB. Our spectacular view from this property in such a peaceful neighbourhood setting just made it seem so right.
We also have a keen interest in travel ourselves and hope that as that occurs, some of what we see and learn will be absorbed and ‘ultimately’ contribute to the overall guest experience.
Why the Owner chose Victoria: We met in Victoria. Like most transplants from elsewhere in Canada, we each, for separate, yet similar reasons looked to ‘find a way’ to live in the most beautiful part of this great country and to be able to enjoy its temperate climate year round. Truthfully, we simply wanted to escape those ferocious and legendary Canadian winters!
The Unique Benefits at this suite: There are many! The view, the privacy, its proximity to spectacular natural wonders, the quiet serenity, everything is clean and new. It’s a fabulous place to stay while visiting family elsewhere in the city or a Royal Roads University student. The close proximity to shopping, restaurants, golf, hiking, wine tours, and all that Southern Vancouver Island has to offer!
Note: Our suite is not for everyone. With only one bed it doesn’t work for families. It has been designed for singles and couples interested in pampering themselves. Perfect for a romantic getaway; a special anniversary, or ‘the trip of a life-time’. Regretfully, the stairs that provide private access make our suite unsuitable for the handicapped. If you smoke we would kindly ask that you look elsewhere.
