The owners are a semi-retired couple living on-site and enjoying a lifestyle of surfing, sailing, gardening, wood crafts, art, cooking and sewing. They retired from Fayetteville, AR, where Melanie was a real estate broker and Kim was a builder. He built the two houses in 2005 and guests have been returning for the past eight years, very pleased to have selected Casa Dos Rios. They moved to Costa Rica at the end of 2009. They also maintain a residence in Fayetteville, AR
Kim has been a sailor since 1990 and the couple offer sailing tours to guests aboard Sorrento, a 36 ft. Columbia sloop. Melanie is Cajun, from So. Louisiana, originally, and is adept at cooking and baking breads and desserts. Many guests opt to have some of their meals prepared by her.
It is obvious from seeing the manicured property and beautiful gardens that they also spend time landscaping the grounds and ever-improving the gardens.

Casa dos Rios is a wonderful home located beachfront on the southern end of the Osa Peninsula in Matapalo. Looking out over the front yard one can watch macaws in the Beach Almond, monkeys frolicking in the trees, and listen to the sound of the crashing waves.
