I am Melba Wood and my passion lies in the hospitality industry and all its facets. I love to cook, entertain and to share life's simple, precious moments with family and friends.

My entire working life has been meeting and working with people from all over the world. I have worked as a Tour Representative for German, French and British Tour Operators and have met some wonderful people over the years. I later evolved into wedding and event planning, catering and cake baking and decorating.

This beautiful villa came about as a result of a recurrent dream of the Lighthouse being seen from a lounge chair in a distance. Some time afterward, I saw an ad for land lots being sold near the Lighthouse and right there is where my dream started to take shape.

I was born and grew up in the East in St Philip so this part of Barbados is very dear to me. Spring Bay Villa is named after the small, secluded pink sand beach which sits below the cliff off the Ragged Point Lighthouse. (Unfortunately, the very limited access to Spring Bay is very dangerous).

Spring Bay Villa is truly a labour of love since I designed it and was intimately involved with its construction and interior design as well. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.

You will enjoy the peacefulness of the Ragged Point area, the beautiful ocean views and you will benefit from the fresh, therapeutic breezes off the Atlantic ocean. I hope that this, combined with the comfort of Spring Bay Villa and the charm of Barbados and its people, will make for a truly wonderful stay on our island home.
