Wayne and Susan fell in love with this house in the fall of 1999 as a future retirement home. In 2010 we oversaw a major, top to bottom renovation and had our first guests in February 2011. Their great appreciation of the house and location encouraged us to carry on with the gardens, the beach reclamation and wildlife observation deck, and in 2012 the 6 person hot tub.
We live and work in Vancouver and make the great escape about once a month to do gardening and maintenance. We ski, cycle, kayak, fish and take in the many music and cultural events the area offers. Sometimes we just sit and stare at the sea. Our favorite summer thing is to swim out into the incoming tide as it is warmed by the sun-baked sand. A little bit of heaven, that!
