Vista Country Home was built and served as the retirement home for WWII US Navy Fighter Ace Hugh N Batten and his wife. It was designed by his son, Registered Landscape Architect Chris Batten, and built on our family farm known as Fiddler's Green in 1990. This location has been a family farm for some 200 years, and home to the Batten family for 5 generations--longer than any other family in its history--so we have enormous pride in keeping Vista Country Home a place you will enjoy either as a base for vacation travels to the many nearby historic areas, or as an elegant and comfortable country retreat for family and friends.
Chris & Melissa live on the adjacent property, which still operates as a farm, and will be your on-scene hosts to make your stay comfortable. The 100s of acres of country surrounding Vista look much the same as it did 150 years ago during the Civil War, when many battles large and small raged closed enough that the thunder of artillery still echoes through the trees.
