Owner John Guy and Manager Frances Barker (me!) have been friends for over 2 decades. The cottages are celebration of good times, friendship and shared achievement. We like to think the spirit of the venture is captured in the walls and hope you laugh and smile in the cottages just as much as we did building them for you.
My husband Rick and I grew up in the community and our families were among the early settlers. We live right down the hill from the cottages and are always on hand for anything you might need. Rick helped clear the first tree and still helps today. As he tell it "the ceiling took 12,000 nails and I hammered in most of them!" We all really look forward to meeting you. Whatever we you want to do, whether fishing or snowmaching, learning how to bake blueberry jam or need some cod fish filleted, we're here to help you get the most from your stay with us.

Open Hall is one of the best kept secrets in Newfoundland. We enjoyed amazing weather, blue skies, hot enough to swim in the ponds and just incredible sunsets every night which we watched from the deck of the cottage. The hosts just couldn't do enough for us and invited us to take part in everything they were doing so we got to go cod fishing and ended up at a kitchen party and a beach bonfire! …
