Australia has been my adopted home since 1986, but part of me never left the Pyrenees. Since 1996 my wife, Robbie, and I have conducted walking tours and gourmet tours in my home region, the Béarn. We have been on the look-out for a special place to call home. We fell in love with “Pistoulet” and decided to make it ours. Adding our own touch was important and to make it a confortable home was essential. “Pistoulet” cottage was built in 1850 in the village of Lagor. The village has kept its heritage and still retains a country feel with all amenities close by.
The Béarn region is full of history, character and has so much to offer to holiday makers. The mountains, the sea, Spain and the Basque region are situated within an hour’s drive. The gastronomy is one of France’s best.
We loved this area so much that over the last few years we have shared it with hundreds of friends and clients taking them walking or giving them a taste of the many culinary delights of that the region
