About Suite P.

We are conveniently located just off the spectacular Mount Baker Scenic Byway in a beautifully wooded area about 15 minutes from the Sumas, Washington border crossing into Abbottsford, B.C. Driving along the rambling Kendall Highway you feel as if you have just entered your own private park.

Nestled in the heart of P. Lakes your senses will awaken to the sweet mountain air filled with the scent of cedar, fir, spruce and seasonal wildflowers.

We have a beautiful room, with master bath and sitting room, available for rent in our charming, farm-style home. You will enjoy a restful night on a comfy pillow-top queen four-poster bed fit for royalty - with luxurious golden linens in the summer or cozy flannel with a down comforter in the winter.

Location/Area Description

Throughout the Mount Baker foothills region you'll marvel at the sights - pastoral landscapes, creeks, ponds, lakes, rivers, waterfalls, moss blanketed trees, glacier-covered peaks, spectacular mountain meadows, old-growth forests, wildlife, eagle habitats, historical points of interest and so much more.

Activities and events abound year-round. Take your pick: Hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, kayaking, boating, river rafting, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, off-roading and snowmobiling [snow machine rentals available locally]. You might even try your hand at panning for placer gold.

Multiple music/arts festivals occur over the course of the summer as well as cultural and sporting events [Ski to Sea Marathon, Nooksack River Slalom whitewater kayak race, Festival 542, Harvey Haggard Festival, Mount Baker Logging Show, Maple Falls Labor Day Car & Bike Show, etc.]

Mount Baker Ski Resort at White Salmon - the birthplace of snowboarding - and world record holder for annual snowfall, is an enchanting 30 minutes drive to the top of the mountain with spectacular views all along the way. Bring your skis and snowboards and experience the raw thrill of world-class deep pow! You might even conquer "The Gap!"

We are the perfect centrally-located base camp for local exploration or North, South, East or West day trips. The North Cascades Highway and the Skagit River Bald Eagle wintering grounds are just a short, scenic drive south. The ferry to the San Juan Island Archipelago is less than an hour away.

Delightful eateries and eclectic shops await you both locally and in downtown Bellingham where you'll also find the historic Fairhaven District.

Bring your camera and plan on staying at least a couple of days. You'll need them! You're visit will be unforgettable!

The guest bedroom is done in rich tasteful tones throughout, with touches of our proud Scottish heritage and Victorian antiques. You will NOT be disappointed with your accommodations. Other features include stereo flat-screen color television with access to our complimentary DVD library, in-room phone and broadband access for your laptop so you can access your email or the Internet to explore local attractions, events and activities.

Our guest Sitting Room features a library, your own mini fridge with a pitcher of fresh filtered water served daily and honor system refreshments, microwave, coffee maker and electric hot water kettle with complimentary coffee, tea and condiments. (SORRY. NO KITCHEN).

We are a quiet, middle-aged couple who maintain a clean, comfortable, smoke-free, gated and secure home (Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets or smokers).
