My wife and I are based in Bangkok with our young daughter and are both working and travelling extensively.
We have been working in Asia and predominantly indochina for the past 20 + years and this small part of Phuket is where we go to retreat from the world and spend time recharging our batteries.
We love this part of the island as it offers a touch of what you expect of a tropical island without being totally isolated as it is in easy reach of the rest of Phuket and the chaos if needed.
It is for us a great place for the family to be together and to focus on relaxing and taking things at a much more easy pace with quiet little beach bars and small friendly restaurants nearby to relax and enjoy Thailand at it's best.
It is also a great location for jumping on a boat and being on a deserted island within 15 minutes to snorkel and picnic and then back washed and into phuket old town to have dinner at a great restaurant.
The local beach scene and the vibe of phuket town are what we believe many people come to phuket looking for and expect on a thai tropical island but end up sucked into the major centres on the west coast with masses of people and cookie cutter chain restaurants from where they are escaping from.
If you are looking for a bit of the real Phuket and to unplug slightly with family and friends then this may well be the place for you.
Please see the web sites and reviews on the local restaurants and bars in phuket town that we have added to get an idea of what is available nearby.
