Jeffrey S. was born and raised in Vermont. Studied Business at Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island. When he ran out of money after his sophomore year he joined the US Army and served overseas during the first Gulf War. After his Honorable Discharge, he transferred to the University of Massachusetts and studied finance. After college he was hired by American Express Financial Advisors in Philadelphia,PA. He worked there for 10 years as Financial Advisor, District Mananger, and Associate Vice President. Jeff was ranked nationally, in the top 1 to 5% for 6 consecutive years for his management skills. He then spent 5 years working as a Financial Advisor for MetLife in Fort Lauderdale. His last year he was also nationally recognized in the top 5% based on overall performance out of 22,000 advisors nationwide. A few months before he turned 40 he retired and spent a month learning to kiteboarding in Phuket, Thialand. Having traveled to over 20 countries and 8 months in Brazil, he decided Florianopolis, Brazil would be his new home. He is now the proud owner of (website: hidden) and TheLazyGringo.com. Jeff learned to teach kitesurfing by working with Graham Goodwin owner of FortLauderdaleKiteSurfing.com. Graham was one of the first to start teaching kitesurfing in South Florida. Jeff obtained his International Kitesurfing Organization certification in 2012 at Miami Kiteboarding.
