We have been visiting Playa del Carmen for almost 20 years, and other areas for many more. Our thing has been travel, and a persistent search for a place to purchase a second home out of the US. In all our travels, we have never found another place to take the place of Playa del Carmen. So, we purchased our beautiful spacious second home in what we feel is the absolute best location on the Yucatan Peninsula, Playa del Carmen, in the gorgeous gated and protected community of Playacar. We can walk to downtown playa or the ocean in about 7 minutes, or take an inexpensive cab ride for less than 2 minutes. And finally, it's only 45 minutes from the International Airport in Cancun.

We absolutely love the weather, as our main home is located in the freezing mountains in the northeast portion of the US. We never tire of the stunning beauty of the blue-green caribbean ocean and white clean sand in Playa, and collect sea shells from long walks on the beach. We indulge in $25 massages, sometimes twice a week, and love visiting some of the fabulous shops, eating a fresh whole Red Snapper grilled over an open fire at La Tarrera, one of the popular beach restaurants, or eating at one of our favorite sidewalk restaurants. We enjoy the unique international flavor of watching and meeting visitors from all over the world. The ferry to Cozumel is about an 8 minutes walk from our condo. Cozumel has more restaurants, some fun bars, $15 real silver shops my wife absolutely loves, and among the most spectacular scuba diving reefs in the world. We enjoy cooking Mexican food at our Playa home, and beating the system with a quick Mexican meal for two for about six bucks.

We too have experienced most of life's challenges, the general everyday hustle of living, from the costs of college education, to surviving in small business, and a human resources career, where stress is part of the job description. We have tried to make our second home affordable, and share it with other people like us, who have limited time and resources, and looking for better quality and value for their hard earned after-tax dollars. Ultimately, we feel this concept works well for people all over the world, both for guest and host.
