Almost ten years ago, we turned up in Budapest and immediately fell in love with her. From the architecture to the food to the arts to the amazing white wines, we were enchanted by this beautiful and vibrant city. There was only one drawback - the housing options.

We quickly grew tired of dingy and poorly maintained apartments with...

...tattered bed linens and stained towels.

...hair-clogged drains that hadn't been cleaned in years.

...filthy dishes and inadequate pots, pans and kitchen utensils.

...old, inefficient heaters that created one or two hot spots while leaving the rest of the apartment freezing cold.

...complicated pricing schedules for utilities, insurance, condo fees and other hidden costs above and beyond the advertised monthly rate.

...property managers who were non-responsive to maintenance issues, and who cared little about us until it was time to collect the rent check.

That's why we started Live in Budapest – to provide attractive, clean and well-stocked apartments with great service and attention to detail at an affordable price.

We are not a management company that handles a large volume of apartments for a percentage of the monthly rent. We actually own the properties you see on this website, and our goal with renovating and furnishing each unit was to create a space that we would be happy to live in ourselves. Of course, we have a vested interest in ensuring that our apartments are well maintained, but it is also important to us that our tenants walk away with a positive experience that enhances their time in Budapest, not detracts from it.

We know what it feels like to be a stranger in a strange land, and we know how important it is to have a comfortable and well-appointed home-away-from-home to escape to at the end of each day. That is what we strive to offer in each of our apartments and what you should expect if you rent us.
