History

Our Welsh family business started 50 years ago. We specialise in Quality Cottages throughout Wales. Leonard Rees inherited Cerbid Farm at the age of 17, then 10 years later ceased farming to convert the farm buildings into holiday cottages. For nearly 20 years there was a small portfolio of Cerbid cottages plus a small selection of other nearby cottages.

In 1979 the late holiday programme "Wish You Were Here" broadcast a television feature on Cerbid. The subsequent high demand for our cottages was the inspiration needed to grow the business. Soon after, Quality Cottages won Wales's first Gold award for self-catering tourism. Since the early years Quality Cottages has grown into a pan Wales agency specialising in quality Welsh properties. We have had the privilege of promoting many beautiful properties and working with their caring owners.

During the 1980's we also established a French agency, Quality Villas. You can visit their site by clicking Quality Villas .The agency now has property in Italy, Morocco and ski resorts in the Alps.

Quality Unearthed started by Tim Rees specialises in unusual holiday abodes throughout Britain such as tree houses, eco pods, gypsy wagons, yurts and more.

We always have and always will continue to promote a high standard of property with caring owners. Our local team members live and breathe Wales. We have an accumulated knowledge of Wales, its geography and history, second to none. Our sales team work from 8.30am to 20.30pm seven days a week.

Presently, in 2016 there are 30 of us in the Quality Cottages team. We have a paternal approach to employment, putting the needs of people first. We feel this has a positive effect on health, happiness and profit. 17 of the team have been here more than 10 years. Margaret Rees and our son Tim Rees have also re-joined the company with pockets full of fresh ideas to take us, through the next 50 years.

50 years experience

Over 50 years ago we started letting farmhouses, cottages and our converted old farm buildings at Cerbid, in an area where my family have farmed for nearly 400 years. Cerbid is a tiny private hamlet on the centre of the St. Davids/Solva peninsula which enjoys some of the finest coastline in Britain. Our office is also located here at Cerbid. As letting agents we now represent properties in selected areas throughout Wales.

Philosophy

Specialise in Quality not Quantity. Always behave with honesty and integrity during the whole process of selection and promotion of the holiday properties and communications with the customers. (That's not to say we don't make mistakes, but we will always act fairly to resolve things quickly.)

Selection Criteria

We personally inspect and select every property in our portfolio. Factors that affect our clients holidays - location, freedom from noise, convenience to quality coastline or areas of outstanding natural beauty, architecture, decor, furniture, grounds, views, indeed the whole ambiance are carefully evaluated.

Service and Knowledge

Our highly experienced, knowledgeable team take great pride and patience in assisting our guests in the selection of their holiday properties. We regularly visit all of our properties throughout Wales. Together our family and team have an aggregate of almost 250 years involvement with self catering at Cerbid and Quality Cottages.
