“Nice apartment!” Apartment was roomy and had all the features as advertised! We were met on arrival and everything was taken care of and explained! The internet can be painfully slow. We were there in October so the temperature was fine. You might be hot in summer? There is so street noise, but nothing earplugs wouldn't take care of! Bring cash or an aTM card with you to the Galapagos. Most businesses don't like credit cards!

“A great experience” My sons and I stayed at Villa Tortuga for 10 days. It was a wonderful experience. The house was better than we expected, very comfortable and cozy. It had everything we needed to feel at home. The location was excellent, at walking distance to Puerto ayora and also to the beautiful Tortuga Bay, which I think is the most beautiful beach in the area. It was great to return to the Villa after the beautiful day tours we did. The house has a very peaceful atmosphere, hidden in an exotic garden which is carefully kept . We followed Tatjana's recommendations and everything worked out perfectly well. Maria the house keeper was sweet and helpful and Marco the taxi driver was always ready to help. Thank you Tatjana for a wonderful time!

“I would recommend this house!” Great house, lots of space, clean, helpful staff. Air conditioning would be nice but we recognize/commend the owner's attempt at being environmentally friendly!

We stay 27 dec to 3 jan 2014, the house is clean and confortable, all that we need was there for cooking. Near the entrance to the Playa Tortugua and 5 min. to downtown. Ruban, the taxi conductor can take you for a daily tour he is very gentle. And Maria the housekeeper is gentle too. I recommand this place to stay. … see more

Beautiful place!

Villa Opuntia is a house you only see in dreams, beautiful place to stay in Galapagos. We went with a group of 6 people, very comfortable and have a nice location just next to the path of Tortuga Bay (one of the most beautiful beaches I´ve ever seen). Also you are like 5 blocks from the main bay, were all the restaurants are located, you can walk or take a cab ($1 ride). It is just perfect!. I recommended for everyone who wants to stay in the best place of Santa Cruz, Galapagos. Tatjana, the owner, always answered the e-mails we sent her. Tatjana is very kind, helpful, and patient. Since now, Villa Opuntia will be my "must to stay" place in Galapagos. … see more

Fantastic

I have never done reviews but my experience here was so great that I felt obliged to write something up. I went there with 5 of my friends after our study abroad program and we all agreed the house was absolutely perfect. Could not have asked for a better combination of price (especially $140 per week per person) and room! 4 of us had to sleep 2 to a bed but that was not really an issue but the other 2 got singles. There is a beautiful living room that is right next to the kitchen which allows for a great flowing ambiance on the first floor. 2 bathrooms were great as well. The porch that opened up to a backyard had hammocks and comfortable chairs so that in the afternoons you could hang out there. The tower on the top of the house allowed for a good view of the sunset every afternoon as well. It was the perfect distance from town for peace and quiet but only a 5 minute walk if you wanted to go to a restaurant in town. Finally, Paul was great with helping us organizing our tours as well as the house. Absolutely fantastic experience that was only made better by our fantastic living arrangements! quiet, off the main strip of town

My husband and I enjoyed our 2 week stay here. We stayed in the second floor unit. We had plenty of space and the balcony is very nice for breakfast or dinners. The housecleaner comes every other day and provides fresh towels. It is quiet because it is off the main strip- about a 15 minute walk to town. Keep in mind there is no AC so depending on the time of year you visit it could be hot inside. The ceiling fans in every room help but I think for the price it should probably have AC. Also I would recommend this for a family of 3 or more, it's not necessary for 2 people. Note the second bedroom is bunkbeds. Paul is very nice, we had to chance to meet him before we left. Also, highly recommend having Paul coordinate the pick up from the airport with their driver. It is the best way to ensure a smooth arrival. The price is fair and the driver is a great! … see more
