We stayed July of 2012. The house was even nicer in person than in the pictures. Bob and Jane were wonderful to work with. We will be back! We loved the location. Close to everything. The guys enjoyed the fishing. Only complaint was the Mosquitos were bad in the yard. Not sure they could have done anything about that.

I have stayed in many beach houses in Galveston over the years, some larger and some smaller, but none have reached the high standards of this one. The layout of the house is wonderful, with the bedrooms separated in a way that maximizes privacy. The rooms are actually even larger than they appear in the photos. While this is a third-row house, it is much closer to the beach than you would think. The ocean view is cut off in a couple of places by houses, but there is still quite a lot of ocean to watch, and you can hear the waves perfectly.
The furniture was extremely comfortable and well maintained and the kitchen was stocked with every utensil you could possibly need (and that is very rare in other beach houses). The sheets were high quality and the beds more than comfortable. The decor is lovely and there is a wonderful airy, open feeling throughout. I was particularly delighted with the master bath which has a fantastic showerhead and beautiful tile.
The fenced yard was a wonderful treat, where I could let the dogs run down by themselves to potty without worrying they would wander off.
The patio furniture far exceeded what you normally find in rental beach houses. It was so comfortable. The televisions were great, excellent pictures, and the WiFi access was perfect.
The house is very easy to find and a great location.
In all honesty, I can't think of a single flaw or anything I would change about this house. I can't wait to return again.

Our extended family met here to relax before our son's deployment. It was great. The accommodations were wonderful. Big screen TV, kitchen with lots of pots, pan and utensils, outside grill and lots of porch space to watch the stars. It is one house from the beach with immediate access. First time that we had rented a house but we will do it again.

We had an unforgettable experience at the Island Cabana!!! The home was clean, spacious, had ever amenity we could have asked for. The patios/decks were so peaceful, each of us took a turn napping on them. We actually debated pulling up a blanket and sleeping outside under the stars it was just that beautiful!!! We celebrated our sons 21st birthday, and had a fabulous dinner at Gaido's, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but once inside, you are in a 4 star restaurant. The men went to have a wonderful night of pool and drinks at O'Malleys backstage pub, and were all pleased with the atmosphere and friendliness of the people. Our overall experience was incredible, from our morning coffee on the deck, to the kids splashing in the gulf, to a nice glass of wine for a romantic moment with my husband under the stars. Although we were a group, the home offered peaceful retreats for all.

This beach house was perfect for our family. We had adults, children between the ages of 1-12 and grandparents. The upstairs/downstairs set up was perfect for a napping baby to not be disturbed. Plenty of room and beds for everyone. The baby's pack-in-play fit in the bathroom upstairs so we could sleep in the bedroom without her seeing us and waking her up in the middle of the night. There is no driving on the beach so we never had to worry about the safety of the children running from the water to the beach chairs. At night we could go "crab hunting" and feel completely safe. So quiet!! We loved our week there and will definitely get the same house!!!
