The hundred year old log cabin is perfect for your special get away time in the beautiful Paradise Valley. Although a bit off the beaten path in the historic mining district of Old Chico, it's very near popular attractions. It's only one mile to Chico Hot Springs Resort, five miles to the Yellowstone River, eight miles to the beautiful and natural Daily Lake, and 30 miles to the world famous Yellowstone Park.
The cabin is roomy with a high ceiling and it's decorated with hand-built log furniture and antiques. The kitchenette has a full sized refrigerator and range, microwave, coffeemaker, toaster, dishes, pots and pans, and paper products. The cabin is private, quiet, and clean.
There is a large queen sized log bed built especially for the cabin, a hundred year old antique iron bed, and a twin sized bed. The hand built oak dining table seats four comfortably. The couch is a comfortable Ethan Allen. The cabin has a library of books, magazines, a collections of videos, and dining and trail guides. Edie, owner and manager, served several years in Park County Search and Rescue and can give you important tips about back country and river safety. Or you might want to listen to her stories or read her novel set in Emigrant Gulch in the early 1900's.
Cabin in Paradise has it's own private fenced yard which is shady with lots of trees, a picnic table, hand built log swing, and romantic sitting arbor. The covered porch is perfect for enjoying a steamy mug of coffee on a cool Montana morning or star gazing at night.
The cabin is located in Emigrant Gulch. The temperature can become warm on summer afternoons. Mornings, evenings, and nights cool to a very enjoyable and comfortable forty to sixty
degrees. Thus layered clothing works best. Horseback riding, river floats, fishing, hiking, watching wildlife, and photography are popular activities. In winter folks snow shoe or cross country ski the many back roads and trails. Snow coach rides are offered in Yellowstone Park. Dog sled treks are offered nearby. Many species of wildlife, birds, and flowers can be seen throughout the area. With the mountains and the spectacular and ever changing big Montana sky, the landscape is a photographer's paradise. Local dining offers several options, all first class.
Cabin in Paradise is a small operation, rare these days, but that gives us time to answer your questions and hear your comments. We understand the importance of time away and will strive hard to help you have the best stay possible. Many sincere thanks for reading about us and we hope to meet and talk to you soon.

We visited the Paradise Valley last summer to enjoy some time hiking, viewing wildlife, fishing and enjoying each other. All were a great success. We stayed at the "Cabin in Paradise". You never really know what to expect going into places blind. However, this was a wonderful experience for us. The proprietor was a wonderful lady that was full of information regarding the history of the area and things to do. Very kind and consciences of our needs. The cabin was clean, warm, and quiet. The atmosphere was wonderful - as was the yard, location, and access to all things that make the Paradise Valley one of the best places there is. We will definitely stay here again.

This cabin is amazing. It is off the beaten path and if you want to be one with nature – this cabin takes you there with comfort and charm. You can hear Emigrant creek calling you to enjoy its sounds, inviting you to dip your feet or just let your worries flow away. You can take a long hike without ever getting into your car or seeing people and the Emigrant gulch trek is full of beauty (wildflowers, birds, butterflies and of course a beautiful waterfall). The nighttime lets you view the stars and it’s easy to feel like you could reach out and touch one. If you are a star gazer, this place is easy to see the whole sky. The cabin is an easy & beautiful drive from north entrance to YNP. There is also great hiking in the Paradise Valley. The furniture is great, the beds (Queen & King) are extremely comfortable and there is a single bed too. The cabin has ample kitchen space and the bathroom is modern and shower is great too. There is a great fenced in yard with a wonderful swing and everything you need to make a visit feel perfect. The Chico Resort is nearby and it has a restaurant, bar, a hot spring fed pool, coffee shop, horseback riding etc). The town of Emigrant has a few stores and is less than a 5 minute drive.
Of course one of the great pleasures of staying at this cabin is your host. Edie is a wonderful person. As soon as you meet her, you can sense she is one with nature, content to be on this beautiful earth and she exudes kindness. My only regret on this trip that with all the hiking we did not get to spend enough time with this amazing woman. I could spend weeks talking to her and learning from her, she is so cool. She knows the area and can provide you with all sorts of tips on what to do and where to do it.
I’ve stayed in many places throughout the US and world and this one made me feel like I belonged there. If you are going to this area – the Cabin in Paradise will make your trip a memorable one.

Located in Emigrant, Montana just 25min north of Yellowstone, this was one of the best travel experiences of my lifetime. Away from the crowds, immersed in pristine, untouched beauty, this cabin is PERFECT in terms of location & inside for comfort, cleanliness & functionality. The owner, Edie Mellgren was a real jewel: helpful, knowledgeable, easy, accommodating, yet afforded us plenty of privacy. The cost was also much better than the cabins in Yellowstone: AND, we got so much more for our money at Cabin in Paradise.
Hard not to want to go back.

A great get-away in a cozy little place with all the amenities. We loved and thoroughly enjoyed staying at this fun and darling cabin in the most beautiful setting -- truly paradise!! This says it sleeps four but we found that it can sleep at least one more than that comfortably. Edie, the owner, is a sweetheart. She was very accommodating and the cabin is very clean, roomy and comfortable. Also, it is very close to Chico Hot Springs and Yellowstone National Park!

We were looking for a rustic cabin experience a opposed to your everyday hotel. This cabin is very nice and the area is peaceful. The beds were very comfortable, and the owner is first class and very accommodating. I will certainly rent this place again.

I found Cabin in Paradise online in a search when I was looking for a cabin near Yellowstone Nat park. I spoke with Edie(Owner) on the phone.
She was so sweet and spoke so passionately about her cabin. I knew I had to make the reservation. The cabin is just beautiful!! Clean, beautiful fixtures, the beds are very comfortable, the cabin is very warm when it gets cold. The breakfast that we made in the cabin were the best of my trip, just because it was so cozy!! The location is perfect, it's out in the country, not the easiest to find, so make sure you use Edies directions. I did not want to leave and I DEF plan to revisit "cabin In paradise" again someday.. Enjoy!!
