Eddie and Louise met us and showed us around which included seeing their unique animals which is a must. Then showed us our private bathroom which put my girlfriends mind at ease, knowing she didn't have to use the compost toilet,

Then showed us how to use the hot tub which was ready to go from the moment we arrived with its own enclosed wooden hut which was brilliant as it …

Left on Sep 15, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Our group had a memorable and enjoyable 3 nights stay in Glassonby Old Hall in early August 2013. The kitchen was so well equipped and we had so much fun making dinners every night.

The scenic view from my bedroom window made me want to come back to this house many more times. It is located at a very quiet and peaceful part of the village. I enjoyed most the short walks around the fields…

Nice place off the beaten path. Beautiful natural scenes all around. Not much to do in Alston itself, but not too far from Lake Windermere. Winding roads a bit of a hazard for those not used to driving in the UK

Late booking, delighted

Left on Jun 22, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

Although other reviews were very good apart from a silly complaint about the TV being too large, it was exactly what we hoped for. The property had been thoughly cleaned and beautifully presented. The kitchen dining area downstairs is functional, has a small wall TV and was all as stated. The single bedroom was compact but perfectly adequate.

Upstairs is light and a sheer delight to spend time …
