Town: Glanton is a little gem of a village that lies at the foot of the Cheviots and is in some of the most picturesque countryside that Northumberland has to offer. Glanton has a village store and a public house, but for a wider range of shops and other amenities, the busy town of Alnwick is only nine miles away. Alnwick is also famous for its Castle and spectacular gardens, which are well worth a visit. The small town of Rothbury is also close by, as are the house and gardens at Cragside - a National Trust property. The village is well placed for exploring the scenery of the Northumberland National Park and has numerous cycle routes and footpaths as well as the Heritage Coastline. Glanton is a perfect base for a holiday in Northumberland.

We all thoroughly enjoyed are stay (including our 2 dogs)at North Field Farmhouse. Surrounded by fields this is the perfect place to get away from it all. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The house is very spacious and offers all you need for a restful stay. With a large garden to sit out in during fine weather. The town is not to far by car. Owners are friendly and helpful. I would recommend a visit to Barter Books and of course a trip over the border to Scotland.

This is a beautiful cottage in perfect surroundings. The accommodation was excellent - very well equipped - over and above what we had experienced before. The Cottage is very roomy and comfortable. The garden is lovely too and the surrounding countryside is stunning. (Can I fit in any more superlatives?!!!) The owners were welcoming and friendly and were anxious to make our stay as perfect as possible.
I would thoroughly recommend this as a holiday destination.

We had a relaxing and enjoyable time at Northfield Farm House. Could not believe the size of the property and the lovely private garden with stunning views. The owners have the balance so right helpful and informative if needed but leaving you to your privacy too.
This property is away from all the noise and hustle and bustle but still within an easy drive of some lovely places to visit. We will easily recommend this property and visit again.

The owners of the farmhouse gave us a very warm welcome and were more than helpful. The farmhouse itself was wonderful, homely - a pleasure to come back to after a day spent exploring. We specifically liked the woodburner in the living room. The surrounding landscape was breathtaking, we felt like we were out in the wilderness but there were amenties a short drive away. We lked the owners' dogs the best especially the little jack russell. Honestly cannot think of anything we didn't like. The whole experience was fantastic and we hope to visit again in 2010.
