“Family holiday”

Reviewed 21 Aug 2021

Nice location and wee bungalow, good base to explore stunning area of Argyll and Bute. Hadn't met the owners as they were away but they were very responsive to emails and helpful, even during some water issues agreed to compensation. It wasn't quite everything we had thought, as we had young children so were looking for safe enclosed garden, which upon arrival was as mainly to the front and shared with another cottage, who had a dog, which in itself isn't an issue, but it wasn't private or great as their dog wasn't secure on their side and often pooed on our side, on multiple occasions which wasn't good for the kids nor very nice for us to have to clean up. Only blessing was while the landlord was away they permitted us to use some of their garden. If the landlord were there we may have raised this with them. We think it would be better to fence off both gardens for future guests. The property also wasn't as child friendly for younger children. Log fire and matches etc left out, tv on very rocky small table. Think the property is fine for older children. Furniture is a bit dated, as was the bin which we struggled to close and fell apart when you emptied it, washing line was very dirty with green residue so wasn't very usable as wouldn't wash off. We still enjoyed our stay.

Response from the owner I was very disappointed to see this bearing in mind that nothing was said to me personally when I saw the guests before they left. However although we have often been complimented on the comfort of the old sofa, [ the throw was brown but certainly not dirty being regularly washed] we have now replaced it with a new sofa and also completely restocked the glass and crockery. The extractor fan has been thoroughly cleaned and baking tray replaced. Our cleaning contractors have been made fully aware of this review and I hope that the overall complimentary comments in other reviews take preference to this review!!.
