Additional Location Information

If you like to golf there are 3 great 18 hole courses about 30 minutes to 1 hour south, a fun 9 hole played as an 18 just 6 miles north and in Bandon 1 hour north 5 more couses at Bandon Dunes all world class and 2 other courses in that area.
If you like to fish Gold Beach has year round Salmon and Steelhead fishing in the Wild and Scenic Rogue River or 6 other Wild Rivers Coast or out to sea with a charter boat and then there is tuna or rock fish. Forty to 60 pound salmon here are not that rare.
If you want to see the rogue River in style there is the best Jet Boats in the west are here in Gold Beach with over 100 years of service and everyone has a great time. Take half a day or all day trip on the river.
If you like to to spend time on the beach we have great agate hunting, semi precious stones, wide open and free beaches as all are state parks in Oregon. Walk the beach, watch the whales off shore that are here year round, seals, sea lions breed just off shore in the Rogue Reef Sea Mammal preserve. Enjoy the sunsets and just relax.
If you still have a need for more things to do there are trails for hiking, biking or even six kinds of wild berry and mushroom gathering only minutes from your door. Curry County is 93% wild and unbuilt. If your looking for big malls this is not the place, just clean air, very big trees, mountains, wild rivers, the beach and ocean.
Dig for clams on the beach and you can even toss in a crab cage to try to catch your own for dinner or you can visit the port for the best seafood in the area at Fisherman's Direct for live crab, fish or clams. This is where I "catch" all my fish.
Visit the redwoods 1 hours south, No one should come to the west coast and not see the redwoods. If you are not impressed with these trees you must not have looked up.
