Grand Cayman, Little Cayman, and Cayman Brac are the three sister islands that make up the British Overseas Territory of the Cayman Islands. Best known for its slow easy pace of life and its natural beauty, the area of Grand Cayman certainly offers the paradise you've seen in the movies. When you first arrive here, get settled in your vacation rental and then head for the long stretch of soft white sand and calm blue water known as Seven Mile Beach. Take out a rental boat, go scuba diving, or just relax. And when you're ready to get away from the beach, head into the heart of George Town for an unforgettable dining experience.
Here are a few additional suggestions of things to do in Grand Cayman:
-Diving: Grand Cayman offers some of the best diving opportunities in the Caribbean. For real adventure, go wreck diving from Cayman Brac or explore the Blood Bay Wall on Little Cayman.
-Parasailing: Get a spectacular view of Grand Cayman from the sky above Seven Mile beach.
-Surfing and snorkeling: These are just a few of the water sports you can sample on Seven Mile Beach. Equipment rentals are easy to find, or you can bring your own board, fins, snorkel, and mask.
-Stingray City: You won't believe descriptions of the stingrays here until you see them. Enormous and gentle, fearless and bizarre, the creatures of Grand Cayman's best known attraction will eat squid right out of your hand as you snorkel among them.
-Hiking and bird watching on Cayman Brac and Little Cayman: Hike the trails of the two smaller islands and take a pair of binoculars and a camera to capture your encounters with remarkable bird and iguana species.
Come to the Cayman Islands in November for the legendary Pirate Festival, or time your visit to run the Cayman Island Marathon or take part in the Cayman's Jazz fest. No matter when you arrive here, the local people will give you a warm welcome that will make you want to stay forever.
It's easy to move between the three islands, and getting around in George Town should present no problems since you can walk almost anywhere. Find a villa rental for the entire holiday season to see how Grand Cayman celebrates or find a condo near the beach and stay a week or two in the summer.
Our family spent 5 days in this condo, and we really enjoyed the time. Although we didn't meet Mary, the Cayman Villa manager Sandy are very friendly explaining the directions, It was gorgeously decorated, fresh and beach-y, with high end appliances, and an extremely well-appointed kitchen. sandy sent us flower, half and half ,bottles water. The place is beautiful with all the necessities we need at home such as washer, dryer, wifi, towel, etc. The ocean is at your doorstep. The best part of this property is that it is very quite. It is probably because we went in late August, which is off season. We can snorkel just right at the beach, and there are lots of fish close to the beach. it is really home away from home. We highly recommend this unit, and hope to be back again soon!
Wonderful newly remodeled home with lots of amenities not the least of which is the huge hot tub. The house is located in a very quiet area of Rum Point yet very close to the Rum Point beach club. Would highly recommend and was very comfortable for our family of 6.
We have visited Grand Cayman for the past five years, always staying at Georgetown villa 318. This villa makes the stay reach beyond anyone's expectations. This villa is our 2nd home. The villa provides up to date livinging. Beautiful furnishings, great kitchen provides the resources to stay for weeks. The star of the villa is the terrace. You have the view of the pool, the beach and the ships at port. I love to walk to the port. The villa is near many vendors that increase the value of the location. I think if we could not stay at 318, we probably not come to Grand Cayman.
"Perfect vacation getaway spot, would go there again"
Left on 07/20/2015 for a stay in July 2015
We traveled in July, 2015 , family of four. It was our second time to Grand Cayman, but our first time to White Sands.
The location of the condo was on point, right beside the beach and very private. The manager Marji was very welcoming and gave us recommendations on restaurants and grocery markets; very helpful. Cleaning service was excellent. The Condo had 2 bedrooms in total, plus a kitchen, spacious living room, and a small nook, in total, you could probably fit a family of 5 in this condo. It also had a parking space for every condo unit if you wanted to rent a car, (which we did) All in all, me and my family had a blast, and we would definitely come back if the price is right.
On the Bay condos are nicely situated with a private beach and cove. Because there are only 12 condos, we had the pool and beach practically to ourselves. The condo is very spacious, and there were plenty of towels. We are scuba divers and typically stay closer to Ocean Frontiers Dive shop, but our usual place wasn't available this time. On the Bay is a little further for us to drive, but not substantially. Overall this was a very good rental. The downside is that the master bedroom bed was loud - turning over during sleep typically woke one of us up. And our daughter reported that the twin bed in the second bedroom was really hard. The water was completely turned off for two mornings without advance notice to us. We were told that the water company was working on it.
