Fall under Costa Rica’s spell at the enchanting Diosa del Mar. Owned by two world-renowned artists, the five-bedroom oceanfront villa in Guanacaste features both beautiful sunset views over the Pacific and magazine-worthy interiors. The white sands of Playa Blanca are just steps away, and the surf of Playa Negra is a short drive from the villa.
The heart of Diosa del Mar is a showstopping sixty-foot infinity pool overlooking the ocean. Relax by the pool in one of the lounge chairs, hammocks or on the daybed, or explore the sea with flotation devices and snorkeling equipment. There’s an outdoor shower for rinsing off and a gas grill for prepping dinner. In the evening, gather around the home theater or fireplace and browse via Wi-Fi, and stay comfortable thanks to air conditioning and ceiling fans.
Gingerbread trim, beamed ceilings, white beadboard walls and dark wood floors give the villa charm and character, while floor-to-ceiling windows offer gorgeous ocean views. Low white leather sectionals provide plenty of seating in the living room, while brilliantly colored artwork is a unique, tropical touch. The dining room’s carved white chairs and striped cushions have a similarly relaxed, beachy feel, and a glass wall can be opened to let in the sea breeze. The modern kitchen pairs wood cabinets and counters with stainless steel appliances and beadboard ceilings.
The five bedrooms at Diosa del Mar have king beds, en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and ceiling fans, as well as the same whitewashed walls, high ceilings and charming detail as the rest of the house. Striped bedding is a crisp nod to the seaside setting, while upholstered headboards in painterly fabrics inspire sweet dreams.
From the villa, it’s a short walk to either the white sands of Playa Blanca or a local restaurant. It’s a 5-minute drive to Playa Negra or the Junquillal grocery store, a 10-minute drive to church and a 30-minute drive to the Pinilla golf course. A 40-minute drive brings you to the tennis club or airport in Tamarindo, a 45-minute drive brings you to the town of Santa Cruz, and downtown Liberia and its hospital are a 75-minute drive from the property.

WE had a great time at the Villa. We spend more time there than we expected, mostly because the grounds were so nice, the sunsets incredible. Also, the walk way path to Junquillal Beach made it easy access for walks on the beach and exercise... - Dino S., California, USA

We loved Diosa del Mar. Everyone who was involved in helping us at Luxury Retreat were extremely helpful and professional. The site manager and his wife were very helpful and took their time explaining things to us and making reservations for our excursions. We were extremely satisfied with everything. - Pat S., Pennsylvania, USA

The villa property is genuinely as advertised\" as detailed and shown on the great website. The property was beautiful, but not overly opulent. The villa was well appointed, especially the kitchen, and had every amenity to enhance our stay. The location is private, secluded, quiet, and secure. Everyone involved in our vacation arrangements, from the booking agent, our concierge, to the local property manager/host were thorough, solitcitous, efficient, and accommodating. We were especially impressed with the attention and assistance from the local manager, Fabrice and his wife Patti. Their 7-year old daughter, Syriane, was also charming. We were very pleased with the 5 pre-arranged dinners cooked by Fabrice and Patti. What a wonderful treat! Overall, our total experience at this Villa was memorable. We would like to return some day.\" - John G., Florida, USA

We did enjoy the house, very well appointed. We did have a problem with ants in the bedrooms and kitchen cupboards. We had very windy weather, with the plantings so close to the house it was extremely noisy, perhaps a little trimming would help. The Javier (sp) and wife Patty was very helpful, nice to have them next door. Otherwise, I would recommend the home to friends. Thank you and your staff for excellent communication skills. The i\'s were all dotted! - Sandra P., New Brunswick, Canada

Diosa del Mar was another family favorite - everything was simply perfect. I must recognize our on-site Manager, Fabrice, for anticipating our every wish and really making sure our vacation was absolutely wonderful. We loved him so much we took out to a fancy dinner! Lovely villa, outstanding views, adventurous area, just terrific.

After spending close to 2 weeks at Diosa del Mar, my husband and I can confidently say it\'s a lovely place to spend some quiet, quality time. Located in a small village there isn\'t too much to do outside the home, but the home makes up for it. Great amenities - new kitchen, pool, walking distance to the beach, large living room with nice TV, Internet, clean bedrooms / bathrooms. The location of the house is beautiful. We had a wonderful time and would go back for another trip in a heart beat.

We all had a wonderful trip to costa Rica and staying at the Villa (Diosa Del mar) was the highlight. It was perfect - everyone from Luxury Retreats were wondeful. Each person I communicated went out of their way to ensure that the experience would be great. They provided information not only about the Villa, but about the local area as well. From start to finish, they followed up on every detail. The villa itself was beautiful. The accomodations were very comfortable and the scenery magnificient. Vincent and Eve who oversaw the Villa were a delight and went out of their way to make sure we had a good time.

i sincerely appreciate the assistance of your services and would recommend you to others for sure. top notch attention. the villa was absolutely amazing and everything we could imagine. the amenities however were overstated by the website(s). the internet rarely had a connection which was difficult for some of my guests. we had to drive to find a place to connect for a quest to deal with a family emergency. maid service was virtually non-existent. she no-showed a few days and we did our own towels, linens, dishes, etc. VERY disappointed in time spent on vacation doing those things when I paid for a luxery vacation. Biggest issue by far.

Although there is snorkeling equipment, you must drive several klms to snorkel. We had so much to do and see, that this did not affect our stay, but it might be noted for future. The website depicted the house perfectly, it is spectacular! We would like Vincent and Eve to know that we enjoyed their excellent wine gift on our last night instead of the one we purchased for the occasion. We would like to return and stay a day or 2 in different areas as travel time limits what you can do in 1 day. Although I must say that driving on those remote roads was a fun experience. We saw birds and animals in the wild we would never see at home."
