As I write it is 2014, however our stay at Change of Pace was in the late summer of 2003.
We were all able to be there - mom and dad, brothers & sis-in-laws, daughter, two sons, three grands, and our grandmother.
It was the year of Dad and Mom's 50th anniversary. We moved the dining room table to the deck and had a wonderful seafood dinner with laughter and memories shared.
It was also the 7th year since alzheimer's had began the slow fade on Dad, but coming to the beach was his favorite place, and he was Dad again. Dancing in the kitchen with mom, singing some Frank Sinatra.
It was the year two of our boys went into the military; one leaving for the army while we were there.
It was the last beach trip we would all make together with Dad and with Granny Bea.
It was the first family vacation with the grandchildren.
Change of Pace was for us - a change of pace. We set the world aside and slipped into the home as if we'd always been there. Every room was perfect for us. The beach perfectly presented itself every moment, all we had to do was look out the window or door.
I looked through the pictures on this sight today and nothing has changed. All the meals prepared, meals and snacks together. The quiet sounds of night as we all settled in ... faces pink from the sun. The slow rise as we'd each get up ... another day together.
Whether on the beach or the deck, in the kitchen or living areas, there is not one place any of us would alter.
One day ... we hope to be back. Blessings to all who find it home for a season.

The property was just like the pictures and everything that we had hoped for in a rental. I was looking for a place close to the beach with a porch to feel the ocean breeze while watching the children play. We had 10 adults and 6 children and we all had plenty of room. The kitchen and family area was big enough for everyone to be in there at one time. Just a perfect place for a large family. Demitri was very helpful and everyone loved the key lime pie that he brought us. I would definitely recommend this beach house to anyone with a large family.

The house was really roomy and well furnished and decorated. We had a fabulous time, even though it rained half of our stay. Demetrius was very helpful. We appreciated the way he compensated us for the few discrepancies in the house (leaks during the storm). I would recommend more towels, especially in the kitchen. Other than that, the house was perfect.

Change of Pace was the perfect beach house for our family vacation! In addition to it being spacious and beautifully decorated, the huge kitchen and screen porch really added to the quality of our stay. We were able to see the kids on the beach from the kitchen, family room, screen porch, and sun deck - a real plus! We loved the well stocked kitchen and large dining area, and having a second refrigerator was great. The layout of the home allowed us to congregate for meals and family fun, yet escape for a little privacy. Another plus was the amount of covered parking. Demetrious was most helpful with making the reservation and following up on details. He even checked on us during our stay. This level of personal attention far surpasses that of other rental agencies. We've stayed in a lot of homes in Gulf Shores over the years, but Change of Pace was by far the best!

We had 17 people in our group and it could accommodate all of us easily. The kitchen is huge and has dual sinks. It was able to seat all of us, so that we could have meals together. The room with the twin beds was perfect for the kids and allowed them their own space when we weren't at the beach. The beach was clean and very private. Overall, a great experience. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay at Change of Pace. We had a group of eleven people including six teenagers and one grandmother. The upstairs rooms were wonderful for the kids and the lower bedrooms for the adults. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything we could want for cooking and we especially loved the ice machine. Demetrios was very helpful if we had any questions or needed a contact in the area. Overall great experience and would recommend to anyone.

We totally loved our rental house: Change of Pace. It was the perfect place to spend the month of February or any month. Demetrious is a wonder manager. We knew we could count on him if we needed anything. He is a very nice man.

This was our 8th Christmas at Change of Pace---wow! so spiffy with the new stainless steel appliances including a French door refrigerator, granite counter tops, and laminate wood floors. I should have planned jazzier meals. The kitchen is a joy to cook in and so well equipped. I love it that the dining table can seat all 13 of us. The other important plus here is there are great mattresses on the beds.
The beach was beautifully restored and full of shells...such fun to go down the deck stairs and step right into the sand or sit in the swing (my favorite spot)and watch my grandkids play in the sand.
The weather did not cooperate--35-45degrees so our hoodies were the attire of every day. The kids played in the water until they turned blue. And we all played volley ball in the sand when we could, and used the Gulf Shores Rec Center frequently. It is a great place. This trip we proved that fun is in you and not in the situation.
After the kids left, we hosted 20 people for a tailgate supper and to watch the Alabama/Notre easy to do in this house. Metri was always ready to help---checking to see if we needed anything. We will certainly be back to "our beach house" for our ninth Christmas here. Thank you everyone.

Had plenty of room for everyone, both private and as a group. Loved the beach. Demitrius was great to work with - when we come back, we will be staying here again! Can't say enough good things about our Gulf Shores Change of Pace stay!
