DESCRIPTION OF TUTU'S COTTAGE: 2 bedroom, 1 bath plantation style cottage reminiscent of days gone by, but updated kitchen and bath (maple cabinets, granite counter tops). Two great lanais (porches), one on the front of the house, one on the back facing the lush backyard. There are no homes behind our cottage, just natural vegetation and an extraordinary view of the Hanalei mountains, sometimes with 2000 foot drop waterfalls on them!
Spectacular Hanalei Bay, Kauai is located on Kauai's scenic unspoiled North Shore! Enjoy white sand, turquoise water, and a stunning backdrop of waterfalls, rainbows and emerald green mountains. Fabulous hiking, diving, snorkeling, surfing, sailing, and Sunsets.
Hanalei Bay was ranked the No. 1 Beach in the nation May 22, 2009 by a popular travel magazine. It has been rated as the most beautiful beach in the world by the well known Frommer's Travelguide and it is usually listed at least as one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world.
Walk 5 minutes to Weke Road to the beach at Hanalei Bay; the most beautiful white sand beach in the world where you can enjoy walking, running, sunbathing, swimming, surfing, boogie boarding, snorkeling, and the most exquisite sunsets.
Walk 5 minutes to the little village of Hanalei where there is a market,
health food store, post office, an several shops and restaurants of all
kinds as well as a bike shop, surf shop, and a hiking store that also sells
or rents snorkel gear. The village of Hanalei is just like a little surfing
town out of the 60's.
We have a 7 night minimum, but occasionally can fit in shorter stays if it
works with my calendar, however it is more costly for the guest by the night.

We keep coming back every year. This is the perfect size house in the perfect location for us. Its completely equipped and very well taken care of and clean. We cook all our meals in the kitchen, which is supplied with everything you could need. We pack our lunches and take it a couple short blocks walk to the beach in the coolers from the kitchen. The neighborhood is beautiful, the house is set back a bit from the street and has a lovely private backyard with beautiful views. The house has everything you could need, the service Carolyn provides is exceptional. We will certainly continue to come back for years to come.

We've been to Kauai many times, experiencing all parts of the island, but when we discovered Tutu's and Hanalei Bay, well, we hardly now go elsewhere. Easy reservations, easy driving directions, then easy livin'. Tutu' is a half block from Hanalei town, and a block and a half the other direction to the Bay. Perfect location. Several good eateries, shop and bars one way, and the prettiest beach setting the other. The front lanai at Tutu's is perfect for morning coffee and people-watching as they go to and from the beach. Great private back lanai, yard, and shower, with a variety of bird-life and a view in the distance of several waterfalls (near the "magic dragon"). Tutu's is called a cottage, but it's also a lovely small home with everything you need to enjoy the island and the area, including a new washer/dryer in the carport!

We had an amazing stay in Hanalei, able to rest and relax in Carolyn's cottage with both beach and town within easy walking distance. The cottage is extremely clean, well maintained, and well supplied so that we didn't have to bring anything other than food, drink, and our swimsuits! The location seems exactly halfway between the beach and the town - I don't know if we even used our car the entire stay. With views of the mountains and waterfalls, the sleepy surf town vibe, and great communication with Carolyn, we couldn't have asked for more. We plan to come back and stay once a year.
