This is the 3rd house we have rented in Hanalei in as many years and by far the best. The location is perfect. Very easy walk to the beach with kids and town. There are 3 bedrooms. 2 are good size with king beds (very comfortable). The 3 bedroom contains the twin beds, it is right off the TV/kitchen with some sliding according doors. Not really a "bedroom" but it worked out fine for my 10 yr old and 7 yr old. House has everything you would need plenty of towels, beach towels (didn't have enough at the last 2 rentals), pillows, cups/plates etc. You have a beautiful view the 3 mountain peaks of the North Shore off the deck. All in all a great rental for a family (had games to play and a brand new TV with cable) and we hope to come back to stay next year. Mahalo

We loved our stay in this conviently house in Hanalai. The rooms were spacious and the views of the falls from the little eating area were beautiful.
I loved the hot outdoor shower after a long surf session. The kitchen was well stocked although they could use some non stick cooking pans. I love this neighborhood and the quick walk to the beach made it easy to go back and forth. The only negative is the entrance to the driveway. It has a large eroded dip that destroyed the plastic under bumper of our rental car and the taxi that came over. There is also some very slippery areas where the water pools on the driveway that we nearly fell on.
I would go back regardless of these facts and stay every year.

The location was the best thing about this rental. It is 1-1/2 blocks from Hanalei Pavilion beach, and a 7 minute walk from the business district of Hanalei. The house was clean and well-equipped. It has a western-facing patio that allows it to get pretty hot at the end of the day, when you want most to be sitting outside. But that wouldn't keep us from renting it again. It's on a nice cul-de-sac and has a view of the mountains from one end of the deck.

My family of five had a wonderful time at Hale Ola Kai. The outdoor space and proximity to Hanalei bay really made the vacation easy and enjoyable . We could walk to the beach to swim and boogie board, or read on the lanai and enjoy the weather passing over the mountains. Our only disappointment is that this wonderful house will no longer be rented.

This spot is sooo... central to all that is Hanalei that the few house issues, really are non-issues. The only trying time was that there was no access to the internet and the rental company had little desire to assist with correcting the issues for the two weeks we were there. With a home business 5600 miles away it would really have been nice to address issues as they occured at home rather than on the phone with time differences impinging on the days. All that said Rent this house if you want a nice quiet centrally located property with room to spread out. There were six of us and this is our second time in Hanalei and would defintely recommend this as an option for a family stay.
“Hale Ola Kai gave us great location, great view and friendly nei”

We dinned outside on the covered porch every evening. We loved the EZ walk to the beach and town. The covered parking was wonderful. It was great having the outside shower after a day at the beach. We loved the Gekios. The neighbors were all very friendly.
These are a few could have had: more games, more kitchen gadgets, and an updated coffee pot, Bikes, TV in bedrooms,(especially, kids bedroom), a beach umbrella, boggie boards were in bad shape so we rented them.
We loved the beach chairs and the shovels for digging in the sand.
All in all, we would return, just need to save our $$$. The house needs a roof and my husband is a roof contractor. (trade ???)

The house was well equipped, very useable made for a pleasant stay. There are two things I should mention.
First, is tghe battery current on the smoke alarm-nothing was blinking.
Secondly, tghe barbaque on the "porch" needs a though cleaning. I did clean the grates before we first used it, and then after each event. The insides are v ery dirty, and the grease catcher has corrided through causing a mess on the floor. We used purchased aluminum cake pans to catch the drippings, but others apparently did not. Also, the spare propane bottle was not full.

This house is on a quiet cul-de-sac and a couple minutes walk to a nice beach although not great for swimming during the winter. We loved the large wrap around deck for meals,Bbqing, reading, sleeping etc. although it was exposed for everyone to see. The weakest part of the house was the kitchen which needs a full upgrade(cabinets, dish-washer,dishes etc.) The house had some maintenance issues on arrival, some of which were resolved during our stay and some not. Also, the place could have used a deep-cleaning before we moved in. All said we had a great vacation here.
“great spot with a wonderful view of the mountains”

My wife, mother, aunt and I stayed here over xmas holidays and it was great. as we were all on different schedules we could come and go to either the beach or hanalai town center with no hassles as both are very very close by, the beach is less than a block. there is a wonderful view of the mountains and a great lanai that is huge, so if it was raining we would just sit there and chill out. the little bedrooms beds were not all that great but would be fine for kids, the other two beds were great. awaking to the birds chirping and the view was great. it was a little expensive but what isn't at that time of year in that location. hanalai is a great place to stay, great beach, great surf, great swimming and great restaurants, all very low key and relaxed the way it should be! Aloha

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It's walking distance to the beach and "downtown" Hanalei. Located on a secluded cul-de-sac, we found it refreshingly peaceful. The beds were more than comfortable, and it was heavenly sitting out on the Lanai early in the morning while the sun came up!
The only negative is that the BBQ was old and in dis-repair, and we were unable to use it. Hopefully, it has been replaced with a new one.
