Hanalei - Spacious with Amazing Mountain Views & A/C!!
This two story house has 3 bedrooms (2 King bedroom suites and 1 bedroom with 3 twin beds, 2 of the twin beds are brand new). All of the bedrooms have A/C - a rare feature among homes in Hanalei. Each King suite is designed with full privacy in mind and have private bathrooms. Heading up the Kauaian Kamani paneled staircase to the second floor you'll find views from the dining room (which comfortably seats 8), the cozy living room, and the fabulous Ipe lanai. Also on the second floor is the third A/C bedroom with 3 Twin beds that can be used for the keikis or converted to another King bed.
There's the "shower room" and a full stainless steel, fully stocked kitchen upstairs as well. We believe the preparation of meals is a major part of the vacation rental experience and want yours to be fun, easy and memorable.
We've used the local jungle fowl, the Mo'a (and the ever present yet never the same Kauai Rooster) as inspiration for the colors in our new house. Nature is bold and amazing, so we decided to give in to the power! Our cock's comb red floors are dazzling and inspirational while the dark wood trim and tropical wood accents and natural slate bathrooms bring an earthiness to the overall design of the house. We have a reputation for cleanliness and offering everything that you might need in your home in Hanalei.
The house can accommodate up to 9 people (in the Living Room we have a pull-out sofa bed) but is best suited for two couples or a small family (with or without a Nanny!)
The exterior is lushly landscaped and framed for privacy. Although we are on the main road through Hanalei, once you enter the Hanalei Waterfall House gate you are transported to another dimension. There is a small guest house on the property where the owners stay when on island. Each house has a separate entrance and the parking area is on the main road.
Hanalei is many things to many people; it's the surf of famous Hanalei Bay, moments away from this home situated at the start of Hanalei town. People come from around the globe to see the endangered Hawaiian goose, the Nene, fly freely overhead. Many species of birds, including the endangered and endemic, can be seen from the lanai.

My partner & I stayed here with my parents & sister. It was hard planning the perfect vacation for 5 people but I lucked out! The Bali Hai staff were great & answered my many questions promptly & honestly. We were greeted with a bouquet of tropical flowers.
The house was fantastic & looked even better in person. It's spacious and open, but has enough privacy for 2 couples & 1 single to each have our own space (3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms). It could easily hold a larger group. The decor was much nicer than many vacation rentals in the same price range. The kitchen was huge & the house came with everything one could need, even a washer/dryer. I recommend renting a car if you want to see all the sights on Kauai, but you can easily walk to the beach & the funky small town of Hanalei.
We had sunny weather much of the time. The house has a big covered lanai facing the mountains/waterfalls where we spent a lot of time relaxing or bird-watching, & it would be advantageous if faced with rain.
If you're looking for a laid-back, less commercialized tropical experience, with stunning beaches & rainforest, yet with all the comforts of home & easy access to amenities, I highly recommend this rental.
It's not ideal for someone who wants to be in the middle of nowhere with no sign of other people or cars, but we thought being close to town was a plus & the house is surprisingly private. They have done a great job at orienting the house away from the street & have planted a lovely garden that screens off the neighbors. There is some road noise, but it vanishes at night - then all you hear are the katydids.
The only thing I'd warn people about is that there is a trend for Kauai vacation rentals to add on high cleaning fees & other fees on top of your rental rate, & this rental is no exception. Be aware of this & check with the manager/owner of any location you look into.
“Cute house but located right on highway (very noisy) and dark, m”

It's a cute house but it's located right on the highway (literally about 15 feet from the road), so it's very noisy throughout the day and somewhat at night. The two bedrooms with king beds are located on the first floor. Those bedrooms are dark and musty/moldy smelling. Also, the parking is bad, it's a very small space and it's very difficult to see the traffic coming from both directions when you are trying to pull out. The smell and noise were so bad we had to move out after the first night. But the Coldweld Banker staff were very helpful and provided outstanding service. I would highly recommended using them to identify a vacation rental but I would not recommend this house.

Our stay at Hanalai Waterfall exceeded our expectations. The home is beautiful and beautifully appointed for the comfort of guests. the view of the mountains and waterfalls from the back lanai was breathtaking and captivated us each morning and evening. The Caldwell team was responsive and supportive of our every need. They stocked the kitchen for our arrival with items we requested beforehand, had bycycles ready and waiting for us, and quickly met our needs once we were in residence. We could not have asked for better lodging. In fact, we hope to return to experience the joy and beauty of Hanalei Waterfall and the surrounding area in the future. Thannks to our team of hosts for making our stay so comfortable and memorable!!!

When we walked through the doors we were like children on Christmas morning! We ran around from room to room just looking at everything. I can't tell you how many times I said "I love this house!" The masters being down stairs was perfect along with the first 2 full baths, the "children's" room is upstairs and the 3rd full bath. The kitchen and everything about the house made us feel right at home. Every appliance or utensil you could ever want was there. The location is perfect to walk to town (restaurants, small liquor store, coffee/breakfast, shops and a 5 minute drive to Foodland) and a 10 minute walk or 60 second drive to Hanalei Bay. Even though the house is right on the road all the plants make it feel so private, even on the front lanai. Even though we barely used them, the window air conditioners were wonderful. As a travel agent I view and book properties for clients every day and it is always the hardest to pick your own vacation property. We couldn't be happier with our choice. We are already planning to return next year! I honestly cannot come up with a single negative comment. We even met the owner who was so sweet and welcoming. I give 2 thumbs up and 5 stars to the house, the Realtors, the location and the island. Do not hesitate in renting this property- I suggest 2 weeks if you can! Cant wait to stay here again.

If you like to ditch the car and walk to the beach, restaurants, Java kai, great fish tacos, etc., this is the perfect place. The house is roomy and suited for vacation rental. With two beautifully designed master bedrooms and 1 "kids" room with two twins, you can easily have two couples and one or two singles. We travel to Hanalei at least once a year and this has become our home away from home. private and secure, you won't regret this gem.

Our family of 5 loved this house. It is thoughtfully designed, beautifully appointed, and impeccably kept. It makes for a wonderful launching pad to explore the town of Hanalei and the nearby beaches. We loved the view from the lanai, the lush landscaping, the family room and modern kitchen, and the comfortable bedrooms. The house is also well stocked with all the basics (towels, boogie boards, umbrella) to enjoy the beach. Rental companies for snorkels and the like are just steps away. Yes, it is on the main road, but we liked the convenience to town and the layout of the house and foliage make it private enough.

The Waterfall house was amazing, it was a perfect fit for our family. We also enjoyed being in town, we usually stay in Haena and sure didn't miss having to drive everywhere. The master BDs were fabulous, my room was to the right of the front door. I told my daughter that was the exact room I wanted if she ever has to put me in a home! It was a sanctuary. However, we did not care too much for being right on the highway. The rental price did reflect this inconvenience. And the mosquitos were more abundant than I remember. Overall, we had a great vacation.

This is the second time we have stayed at Hanawaterfall and love it's view of the waterfalls and proximity to town. The only thing we we noticed was the oven had not been cleaned in a while and we didn't use it. The bbq grill could be updated maybe to the bigger Weber style but all in all, we thought the house was perfect for our family and wish we could have stayed longer.

The home exudes comfort. Plenty of space and short walk to both town and
the beach. All the amenities one could ask for and very hospitable service at
Coldwell. Great that their office is just across the street. Very pleased by
everything and we are already planning a return trip. Thank you so much!

This is a great house (very clean). It was perfect for two couples, but there was another room with twin beds. Bali Hai/Coldwell Banker was extremely easy to work with. The house is very convenient to all of the shops and restaurants in town and only a few blocks to the beach. Karen, the owner was on the Island and has a house on the property (it is completely blocked by all of the lush vegetation). She couldn't have been nicer. She also left fresh oranges from her tree on the lanai for us, yum! Thanks!!!!
