LOW SPRING RATES! UNFORGETTABLE Geodesic Dome On 40Acres w/Hot Tub

Grassy Creek log cabin

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 1 bathroom
  • sleeps 5

“very relaxing” it was pet friendly, kid friendly, and the little town near by was full of wonderful people. the area is gorgeous and the climate was amazing. the hot tub is outside and the view from it is perfect. also, the cabin is very unique in its design. there is a place nearby that rents canoes, its a little general store called new river general store. the people there were really great and even sent us a newspaper clipping from the nearby town paper. we were pictured in it because a photographer had snapped a picture of us canoing for an article they ran. She recognized us and mailed it, using the info she had from when we rented the canoe. what a great place to relax.

“Pet-Friendly Destingation” As a 'Pet-Blogger', I am always looking for great places to holiday with our two dogs Henry, and Reese. More specifically, somewhere we can 'enjoy' with the dogs without having to worry about what to do with them when we visit restaurants, shops or go sightseeing. The Dolphin Inn was the perfect place to stay! This trip was arranged as a group get together; my husband, parents, in-laws and sister with her husband and two small children. The spacious accommodation meant no one felt as if they were tripping over one another. Although we didn't eat evening meals as a group, we enjoyed breakfast together at a large table located beside the spacious kitchen on the upper level. Because of the layout and quiet location of the Inn, we were comfortable leaving Henry and Reese to relax comfortably when we went out to do 'people only' things. Our hosts were very helpful with suggestions regarding things to do and see in the area. Upon arrival we found guides with locations and contact information, as well as preferred rates on several activities for guests of the Inn. I am happy to recommend The Dolphin Inn to groups or families with or without dogs!

Rustic Cabin, Appalachian Elegance

Asheville apartment

  • 1 bedroom
  • 1 bathroom
  • sleeps 2

“Breathtaking” This rustic cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Being up on the mountain we were out of the hustle and bustle of town, but close enough to venture out if we wanted to. The views from the porch were spectacular, especially as the sun came up, which you can watch from the comfort of the bed through a large window! The inside of the cabin is charming, with all of the comforts home including a full kitchen, bathroom with a stand up shower. The cabin was quiet and despite the owner, George being upstairs we felt alone. George is a great host! He is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a quick tour of the cabin and best spots for pictures when we arrived. My only regret is we couldn't stay longer! We will be going back. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a quiet, secluded, cozy place to escape in the mountains.

“Relaxing and carefree” We had such a wonderful and memorable weekend. Very picturesque and ever so quiet when you're there mid season. There were wineries and breweries within a short driving distance, and the local restaurants are spot on. I would not suggest using GPS, it gets you in the vicinity but not to the right house. Thank goodness for pictures of the house. The kitchen is absolutely beautiful, but bring your own trash bags and sandwich bags etc. The master bath and bed is very nice. We loved the bed so much that we are buying a mattress exactly like it because we slept so well. My only other suggestion would be to have the house ready for arrival. The house was cold, and the entry way was not swept, I picked up a few pieces of trash laying around on the driveway, but I am a Manager of a very nice Boutique Hotel so I notice these small things. All in all it was so lovely and I would definitely stay again.

“Lovely Condo with an Excellent View” Our family stayed mid Oct and was blessed with great weather. It was our first trip to the Outer Banks. This condo has an amazing oceanfront view with a large furnished balcony. It was clean and well furnished. The owner was very attentive. The location was also excellent- we were within walking distance to several great restaurants. We also enjoyed the nearby Wright Bros Museum. Definitely would stay again.

“Relax and enjoy the view and the art” This place was so relaxing, rejuvenating and beautiful! Lovely house with all you need. The deck is awesome for enjoying the view, sunning, grilling. You are surrounded by not only mountains but by artist studios throughout the area on the Toe River Studio Tour. Claudia and John were very helpful and all of our contact with them was enjoyed. They can guide you to wonderful hiking locations too. It was so cool to see them at work in their studios creating art. Their studios are in walking distance from the house.

“New River Ramble” This was a great time for the entire family. We attended the ASU football game, but until that time we enjoyed all the amenities of the home. The New River, the fire pit, the hot tub, the game room, the bicycles, etc. were enjoyed by everyone. This place has everything you could imagine you would need. We will be back! :)

“Quiet! Relaxing! Clean!” Our stay in February was the day after 8" of snow fall. The winding road up to the cabin was clear as was the driveway! The fireplace and hot tub were the highlights of the weekend (hint to future renters: bring kindling...lots of firewood provided but need something to get it started). Would definitely rent here again.

PANORAMIC VIEWS: Kilkelly's 'WEST WING' Condo

Boone apartment

  • 2 bedrooms
  • 2 bathrooms
  • sleeps 6

“Home away from home” I own my own business, so any time away is especially precious. Kilkelly's West Wing Cottage was the perfect fit. Unlike the institutional feel of a hotel room, the West Wing is like a home away from home. Immediately, we felt comfortable and relaxed. The rooms were exceptionally clean and well kept. The rooms were equipped with every possible item anyone would need, even a tea kettle and grill accessories for the gas grill. The commercial like ice maker was an unexpected surprise. They even provided a small cooler for day trips. Normally in a hotel room, I am loathe to touch anything and notice the dirt and traces of previous guests. Immediately you can see how clean and welcoming the West Wing is - I had no hesitation using any of the amenities. We are very picky travelers and the West Wing exceeded our expectations. The breakfast casserole was so good I even got the recipe! There are several televisions with satellite, DVD, Blue-Ray, etc - available but we never even turned them on. It was so relaxing enjoying the sunrise, sunset and mountain views, we had no need for the outside world. We would not hesitate to come back and highly recommend the West Wing! :)

“Awesome and Blissful” We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blissful Vista. Jenkins Rentals is wonderful and helpful. We have been coming to Blowing Rock for 14 years and are looking forward to next year. The location was perfect, private but still around everyone. Just make sure you have 4 wheel drive as always. The view is fantastic, ever changing and peaceful. Totally enjoyed waking up and just looking out the window to see the sunrise. Love the wood burning fireplace. If you are a chef, the kitchen was perfect and had everything one needs. Our favorite part is just enjoying the view out on the awesome decks. Thank you for a wonderful home and sweet memories.

“Perfect Trip!” We did not travel far from where we are from, but we felt like we had escaped to the most beautiful part of the middle of nowhere. Everything you forgot or might have forgotten was available, and the six of us (8 one night) slept completely comfortably. We have already inquired about returning in summers and winters to come. We were secluded, and the yard was perfect for our endless bocce ball games. Very worth it!

About North Carolina

North Carolina is a state of contrasts, from the untamed Appalachians in the west to the picturesque sandy shores and resort towns of the coast. The state is filled with natural beauty, intriguing historical sites and gets plenty of balmy sunshine. Attracting over 50 million visitors each year, North Carolina is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the entire continental United States.

Some of the things you may want to check out during your vacation include:

  • Charlotte: One of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, Charlotte is a leading center of culture and commercialism in the American South. From world-class shopping and restaurants to major pro sports and exciting nightlife, Charlotte has it all, including the best North Carolina museums.
  • The beaches: North Carolina is home to hundreds of miles of coastline, much of which makes up one of the best networks of beaches in the United States. Rivaling the legendary shores of even Florida and California, North Carolina's coast is highlighted by the wildly popular Outer Banks. The coastal towns are perfect for those seeking romantic getaways in North Carolina.
  • Hatteras Island: Offering excellent scuba diving and the legendary Graveyard of the Atlantic shipwreck zone, Hatteras Island is the perfect place to go diving to see the sunken splendors up close or visit the local museum to learn more about the area and its colorful history.
  • Nags Head: Home to scenic sand dunes, Nags Head is the perfect place to get some rest and away from the hustle and bustle of Charlotte and the state's crowded coastal communities.
  • Ocracoke Island: Wild ponies gallop in the sun-stoked breeze in this pristine nature preserve. Scenic Ocracoke Island is home to some of the best campsites in North Carolina and wedding locations in North Carolina.

North Carolina celebrates its culinary treasures during the Lexington Barbecue Festival. Held annually in October, this gastronomic celebration is well worth planning your whole trip around.

Cabin rentals for those staying in the state's interior, beach rentals for sun worshippers and condos for visitors to Charlotte all make excellent hotel alternatives. These vacation rental options offer the comforts of home, added space and privacy, and are perfect for families, groups and couples alike.

The historic charms and spectacular beaches of South Carolina are but a short drive away, and North Carolina isn't too far from Atlanta, either. North Carolina makes a perfect base for a thorough exploration of the American South!

Peaceful Treasure #4- Riverfront - Near Gem Mines
Peaceful Treasure Indeed

This was the first vacation we have taken in three years and it was fantastic. It rained everyday we were there but that didn't stop us from having a great time. The rain mostly came in the evening in the form of thunderstorms and we sat on the porch observing. We enjoyed fishing and just sitting on the bank watching the river flow by getting an occasional cool breeze off the water. I posted pictures on Facebook and a bunch of my friends asked where we were. Of course I happily informed them where we were and will be giving them contact information so they too can enjoy this place. It was extremely relaxing and definitely peaceful. Thank you Belinda for being willing to share your cabin with us. We will be back!see more
