Additional Location Information

Situated in the Languedoc National Park and surrounded by the wine regions of Faugère, Coteaux du Languedoc and Saint Chinian., the village of Hérépian is close to Lamalou-les-Bains and many picturesque villages as well as a mere 15km from the stunning Gorge d’Héric.

Although the Couvent does not have its own restaurant as such it offers an excellent ‘table d’hôte’ if ordered in advance. Each day there is a different ‘plat du jour’. Favourites have included Sète style seafood pies, saddle of rabbit with seasonal vegetables and slow cooked leg of lamb.

Just 50metres from the Couvent is the celebrated Ocre Rouge. This former coaching house enjoys an excellent reputation for serving exciting dishes and using fresh local ingredients. Open for lunch Thursday to Sunday and for dinner Tuesday to Saturday. Booking essential.
