“Little gem in the countryside near Budapest” Everything turned out to be just like the website promised things to be: Maria and Robert provided us with everything needed for a comfortable stay in the very peaceful Hungarian countryside. The puszta is just around the corner, just like the mountains are, and in the middle of it all there's your place like home, in Zagyvaszanto. We really loved to experience the most welcoming atmosphere and anyone planning to visit Hungary to experience its rich cultural heritage as well as its natural beauties shouldn't miss this great place to stay. However great Budapest, less than an hour away, might be, all we can say there's also this little gem which deserves, as much as the capital does, to be visited by anyone exploring Hungary. Der aufenthalt bei Fam. Urban war sehr angenehm. Das appartement ist liebevoll eingerichtet und mit Umsicht ausgestattet worden. Wir sind freundlich aufgenommen worden und haben gute Tipps bekommen. Tagesausflüge haben uns nach Hollokö (Weltkulturerbe), an die Theiss (Tisza) und auf den höchsten Berg Ungarns geführt, den Kékestet? 1014m hoch. Auch die historisch interessante Stadt Eger aber auch Tokaj (beide für hervorragende Weine bekannt) haben wir besucht. Wir werden sicher wiederkommen, um weitere interessante Sehenswürdigkeiten zu besuchen und die ungarische Gastfreundschaft zu genießen. Tipp: Wer Budapest nicht kennt, sollte sich die Besichtigung nicht entgehen lassen. … see more
Beautiful Holidayhouse with garden in Hungary
Peaceful cottage for nature and wine lovers

We stayed in this beautifully situated country cottage for three days and we really enjoyed it. The house is cosy and comfortable and the colourful interior makes you feel happy all the time.(Every door is painted in a different colour.) You will be amazed by the unique mosaic decorations in the bathrooms. The house is fully equipped, however, the water kettle and the microwave oven were out of order (we could manage without them :) The people are very friendly in the village, we were invited for some wine and even given an evening serenade by our local neighbours who also invited us to visit their wine cellar. The surrounding is really fascinating, you are just a fews steps away from some domestic animals and the forest. We took long walks in the hills and also enjoyed the relaxing thermal water in the neighbouring village called Bogács.I can imagine everything is even nicer during the summer when the hills are green and the trees are in blossom. It can also be fun to have barbecues outside when the weather is warmer. So I think this place is ideal for families who would like to escape from busy, stressful city life and enjoy either peace or an active holiday in nature. … see more
Farmhaz
relaxing in a rural setting

We came across this end-of-the-road village by accident: how lucky you can get! A tiny village, and some of the village houses are turned into high standard holiday houses. Very spacious, excellent beds, and a very large garden with private pool. Although it was rather hot (35°) the house stayed cool, due to the thick clay walls. We had a free meal at the restaurant Enni es Inni (Eat & Drink), with very tasteful Hungarian wine. We had at least 4 meals during that week and the cook kept surprising us with home made pasta from spelt, porcini salad from the woods or once with the traditional Porkolt dish. The cook, who is also the owner of this project was a true amiable Dutch woman, who solved all our little problems and knew the answer to most of our questions. We spent some time hiking on the European blue trail, visited some small churches with beautiful iconostases, the folk museum in Edelény and of course the thermal bath in the caves in Miskolctapolca. But the finest time of the day was coming 'home': sipping some excellent Tokaj wine next to the pool, preparing dinner, chatting with our friends, seeing the changing of the colors of season on the fields were the farmers harvest their crops, hearing the sheep coming back to the stables almost through our backyard, smelling the lovely unspoilt smell of a hot day in the country, awaiting the star spangled sky.
