Hickory Lane 1, 6 Bedroom, Heated Private Pool, Near Beach, Sleeps 21
1 Hickory Lane, South Forest Beach. This 6 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom home near the ocean has a heated, oversized pool and provides spacious living both inside and out. At 4500 sqft., it comfortably sleeps 21 and is the perfect Hilton Head getaway for any multi-family gathering. In a great location, your 3-minute walk to a magnificent, seldom crowded beach takes you under a canopy of pines, palms and oaks.
You will enter the home in a spectacular great-room with a 2-story cathedral ceiling, massive floor to ceiling fireplace, wet bar that includes a small refrigerator, and a wall mounted 60"" plasma TV. You will notice that this home is decorated in a "beachy" style organized for privacy and comfort.
In front of the decorative fireplace, the family/TV area has two sofas (one sleeper), a large coffee table, a love seat and three chairs. It is open to the kitchen and the television is easily viewed from the island and side bar keeping the whole family in the action.
Two walls are floor to ceiling shelves decorated with tasteful accents and favorite books. A raised area offers a spot away from the crowd to have a quiet conversation or catch up on work. Wireless internet keeps you connected to the outside world. Glass doors open to a private deck.
The open living concept continues into a large kitchen with breakfast bar. Adjacent to the kitchen is a sunny dining area with seating for twelve. The dining area features a wall of windows that overlook lush landscape, a patio and the pool. Extra seating is available nearby in both the kitchen and around the corner at the game table.
At the end of the kitchen, a beautiful Carolina room extends across the back of the house. It has two sofas, one of which is a sleeper. This room is surrounded by large windows that offer a view of the entire, private, fenced in back yard.
Outside you can lounge on the patio or swim in an oversized 16' x 38' pool that is surrounded by a manicured lawn and palms. Spanish moss hangs from mature live oak trees that provide late afternoon shade to the pool and patio. A gas grill is located near the patio. A high wood fence encloses the back yard and pool area making it a private setting.
Finishing off the first floor of the home are two bedrooms that share a full bath with a walk in shower only. One bedroom has a king bed, the other has a set of twin trundle beds offering sleeping for four.
At the top of the stairs is a large landing that overlooks the great room below. Off the landing, double doors open into the first master suite. A king bed sits in front of a large slanted window. The first master suite also features a daybed offering a comfy seating area or an extra bed when needed. Also included is a spacious master bath with a spa tub, shower, and his and her sinks.
Off the hall at the end of the upstairs landing is the second master suite. This large room is furnished with two queen beds. There is an ample bath with shower only, and a fun cubby offering another daybed for the adventurous kid.
Down the hallway to the right the fifth bedroom is furnished with another king. The sixth bedroom has a set of twin beds. These bedrooms share a bath with a combination shower and tub. A washer and dryer complete the second floor.
The owners have a huge extended family with kids ranging in age from 2 to 21. This is a house where they can all be together to watch a movie, perform the annual talent show, or share a meal - and it is also a house where everyone can find a private spot to call his own.
The pool is now heated March through October. In March, into April and in October the heat pump is less effective due to the cooler nights. There is no need for a pool heat deposit!!

The booking service was professional & efficient. We loved the home. We had 14 people ranging from age 8 to 78. There was plenty of room for sleeping, eating, gathering for conversation, etc. I particularly appreciated the kitchen & how well equipped it was. The gas grill needs attention, but the pool was fabulous. We loved the privacy of the backyard. It was the perfect home to celebrate our 50th anniversary with all our children & grandchildren. The walk to the beach was fine. My only complaints are that we were not furnished towels for all guests even upon request and the large bugs.
“we had a super fantastic time filled with great memories.”

House was very large and nicely segmented so that 3 families did not feel like they were tripping over each other the entire stay. the pool was fantastic and it was nice to have some green space surrounding the pool.

Staff was friendly when we called with problems.
Attention to detail was not up to expectations regarding bicycle rentals and beach umbrellas. This may not have been a reflecton of the rental people, but more of the bike rental office.
Response to maintainence issues was prompt, curteous, and efficient.
More than ample seating throughout the common rooms and dining area.

This will be a short review for raving is not our style. We come from Paris, France. We ran into the agents Hilton Head Rental & Golf on the web and then by phone. The service we received was outstanding -- no surprises on any front. The home was a wonderful experience, starting from the reality check: what you saw on the photos is what you got. We were 13 people, incl 2 teen boys. All rooms and furnishings/equipment were in top condition. The swimming pool and surrounds were well kept and the staff attending to the grounds daily were unobtrusive. The location was quiet and convenient. The island as such is not as crowded and noisy as its reputation seems to tag it to be. Although all part of one family, we came from different parts of the world and each and every one was delighted with their stay. Only constructive criticism: install a sun-blind in one of the small bedrooms -- the only one without. In conclusion: we would like to return one day to Hilton Head and we would certainly start by talking to Jenny at HHRG.

Awesome house for a large family. It had everything you need for a great family vacation. Close to Coligny plaza, huge pool, 3 minutes to the beach, huge grate room with lg TV, updated kitchen with seating for 10 and a great sun room overlooking the pool. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a lg family vacation home. We have been coming to HHI for 8 straight years and always in need of a 5-6 bedroon house. This is by far the best we have ever stayed in.
