While the unit was spacious and clean it was seriously outdated. The door off the carport was very difficult to open and lock and it was very dirty. Also, you had to key lock it from the inside which meant if there was an emergency and you had to vacate immediately you had better make sure the key was ready and available. The utensils were very old and not useable. There was no "non-stick" in the non-stick pans. It would have been nice to have a start of toilet paper, garbage bags. It was nice to have laundry facilities. One of the bigger dissappointments was the fact that there was only one grill, charcoal, and it was difficult to coordinate use by the two units. The TV did not work for the first two nights. The instructions were useless and there were seven remotes! While the windows could be opened the screens were badly damaged or non-existent. One of the plus's was the fact that we were less than a block from the beach; however, the chairs in the unit were less than desireable. It would have been nice to have a beach umbrella available. The drain in the master bedroom shower did not drain properly which resulted in pools of water and the tiles at the base of the shower came off. There was a bad odor everytime I opened the kitchen drawers or cabinets. Perhaps the place needs to be aired out before tenents come in. The storage cabinet in the kitchen was a mish-mash of very outdated appliances and definitely not useable.
Thank you for the review. We're sorry to hear about the issues you had at your unit. We will be inspecting the lock and making any needed repairs. We will also replace the kitchen utensils and cookware as needed. The owner does not provide consumable goods like garbage bags or toilet paper. A second grill will be added soon and we will remove any extraneous remotes. We are having a plumber look at the master bath shower and make any necessary repairs.

This duplex was great! We had an easy 100 yard walk to a great beach. It's located in a quiet, family-friendly area in north Holmes Beach. Shopping is not really in walking distance, but there's a free shuttle that stops right in front of the unit. Our family of 6 had plenty of room, plus there were games, books, and some good Dvds provided by the owners. Everything was clean and in good condition, and there's a nice kitchen. Attached carport lets you load and unload, out of the sun and rain. The free washer & dryer on-site was a nice bonus. The only thing missing is a pool. We'd definitely like to stay here again.
Thank you for your review! We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope you will return again!

“Big rental with alot of potential.”

This is a big duplex, close to the beach with alot of potential but really needs updating. It's amazing what some trim paint and new counter tops can do! The kitchen was well equipped with the exception of cookie sheets. The location is perfect and quiet. Would stay there again.
Thank you for your review. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay and pass your feedback along to the owners. Thank you for making us aware that the property is lacking cookie sheets. We will get those replaced. We hope to see you again!

“Great value and location”

We loved everything about the duplex. except that the lamps aren't high enough to read at night...I ended up putting the lamps up on a pile of books, and the seating is not comfortable for readers. The big bed was comfortable, the shower great, kitchen is well furnished, and I even added a few glasses but overall can't think of serious negatives. The kitchen fan does need to be repaired. Thanks
Thanks for your review. We will assess the lighting situation. Thank you for pointing that out. We will also check out the kitchen fan. Your input is very helpful. We hope you'll return soon.

Great deal for the money. We enjoyed our stay. There were 4 adults staying. Well equipped and comfortable. They could use some new bed pillows and new blinds, but everything else was great. Real Estate office responded to two small issues that we had - immediately! We would definitely rent through this agency again.
Thanks for taking the time to review your stay. We will pass your comments along to the owner about the kitchen. We hope you'll retrun soon!

“Upon arrival the duplex smelled musty & dank”
Left on 01/24/2010 for a stay in December 2009 | JL DrewReviewed Jan 24, 2010Stayed Dec 2009
I would suggest opening the house prior to rental parties arrival. When we first arrived we had to open the windows and air out the place. There was a musty, dank, smell. After a few hours it was ok. The location was perfect as we rented a full duplex the next block over. The place could use updating... but for the money it was worth it. Thank you.
Thank you for taking the time to comment on this property. As we have a large volume of properties and we are concerned about security we do not have the ability to open units. As you stated the smell cleared very quickly and this is an older home that is priced accordingly low. We are very happy you enjoyed your stay and hope we can serve you again soon. “Close to the Beautiful Gulf”

The duplex we rented was spacious and very comfortable and was just a very short walk from the Gulf of Mexico. I did have a few issues, though. We came in expecting to have available to us for our use things like paper towels, toilet paper, garbage bags, and plastic containers in which we could store leftovers after meals. None of these items were available and had to be purchased by us after we had moved into the duplex. We also had to purchase dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, hand soap for the bathrooms, and dishwasher detergent. Additionally, many of the pots and pans in the kitchen did not have lids to them, and there were no baking sheets or working can openers in the cabinets. While I realize this is strictly a vacation rental, I feel that units such as these should come with complete sets of cooking utensils and basic paper and cleaning products that are used on a daily basis.
Thank you for taking the time to review Bollinger Duplex A! Unfortunately, we do not provide the amenities as a hotel would. We do provide start-up products for your arrival and thereafter it is the tenants responsibility to purchase these products if needed for the remainder of the stay. We will pass along your feedback to the owners in regards to cooking utensils and other containers. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and would love for you to visit again soon!
