Built in the 1660's; Sally's Cottage, is upside down, apartment style living in one of the oldest buildings on Holy Island. In the centre of the village, but tucked behind the Front street; Sally's is convenient for all the Island amenities, but private at the same time.

The living room and kitchen are up the top of the cottage, in amongst the beams, so there are views over to the Priory and Bamburgh (on a good day).

Sally's Cottage is perfect for couples, we are lucky to welcome many honeymooners, but we also have our families of 'explorer children' coming for the lovely beaches surrounding our Island. The large, private garden is perfect for relaxing in, especially as we have added a lovely summerhouse.

Modernised a little while ago, Sally's is warm, cosy and very, very comfortable. We have put a lot of thought into providing big, comfy king-size beds, as after a great days walking, a good night sleep is just the thing to look forward to.

Wet days are catered for as well, we have so many DVD's to watch, games and a varied selection of books.

Local bus is 477 and will connect you to... ...The 505/515 will take you to north to Berwick upon Tweed or south to Newcastle There are bicycle hire shops in Berwick upon Tweed or Alnwick. Nearest train station is Berwick upon Tweed, then south it is Alnmouth.

Interaction with guest

We are usually here to welcome you to Sally's when you arrive, but an late arrivals will find it easy to get in and put your feet up. There is always someone on hand if you need help, we are in Celtic Crafts and the lovely staff at Pilgrims coffee House are super helpful as well. We aim to let you enjoy your holiday without poking our noses in, but love to chat if you are not rushing off to Cragside, Farne Islands or just down the beach on the Island.

“Great Getaway”

Wonderful cottage. Ideal for a quiet break, especially when the causeway closes. Comfortable and well appointed. Set on three floors if you count the narrow stairs to the first floor.

“Amazing Holiday”

This was our second visit to Sallys Cottage in 5 years. Such a cosy and delightful place to stay with so many little extras to enhance our holiday experience. This time we made use of the beautiful summer house and garden aswell. Hoping we will be back one day.

“Amazingly , it get's better....”

I have just returned home from my latest visit to Sally's. I am 400 miles away but wish I was back there already. The cottage is just soooooo relaxing and Island life is well...laid back too. The cottage has undergone some subtle tweaks and changes which are nice but basically it is just always fab. Fresh flowers , bottle of wine and delicious scones on arrival ( not to mention the fudge!!). The hugely comfortable beds and everything spotless. On the Island itself the Castle has finished it's refurb and is well worth a visit and Pilgrims Coffee House is undergoing a huge facelift which will be brilliant for the "coffee lovers" who have'nt seen it yet. Basically Charlotte , picking Sally's Cottage as a first choice is a no brainer. Peter

How do damage deposits work?

If Charlotte (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
