Upstairs glimpses of the estuary and Saunton Sands beyond can be seen. There is plenty to see and do, the property is within walking distance of the village of Northam which has a post office, pubs and shops, and is a 15 minute walk to the sands at the burrows at Westward Ho! The interesting and historical fishing village of Appledore is only a 5 minute drive and over the estuary from here is the village of Instow where you can watch the many yachts sail by or partake in one of the water sports. Ideally situated for all North Devon's attractions including many National Trust properties and Gardens. For the less energetic, relax in the traditional walled cottage garden with 2 patios and enjoy the peace and quiet of this unique property.
This charming house offers FOUR bedrooms: 3 of which are situated off the main upstairs corridor, super-king-size (can be a twin if preferred) with en-suite with shower over bath and heated towel rail, 1 further king-size with handbasin, and 1 twin with handbasin. Through small swing doors off the upstairs landing there is an annexe with 1 twin room and separate bathroom with shower attachment and WC. Extra cupboard. Bathroom: with shower over bath, WC and heated towel rail. Additional separate WC. Lounge: with Dorset sandstone fireplace and living-flame gas fire, french doors leading out onto lower patio, TV and DVD. Connecting door to cosy snug/bar with old stone fireplace and living-flame gas fire, TV with DVD and access to enclosed rear courtyard. Dining room: reached from the downstairs entrance porch, spacious with beamed ceiling and old terracotta tiled floor, ship's beam feature staircase and large inglenook fireplace with living-flame gas fire. Kitchen: extensively fitted with 5 ring gas hob, electric oven, washer/dryer, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Outside: french doors from dining room to sun lounge which has door out onto lower patio. Amenities: parking for 2 mid-sized cars at the rear of the courtyard, 1 undercover and 1 behind (uncovered). Bed linen, electric and central heating included. Towels available for hire. Regret no cot or highchair available, however feel free to bring a travel cot. 1 dog welcome. Regret no smoking. Location: beach 1 mile, indoor swimming pool, pubs and restaurant in village, sea/river fishing and horse riding nearby. Arrival: 3pm.
Dogs are charged at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.
