Bryn-Teg Cottage, Welsh for house on a hill, is a charming, clean, 1200 plus square foot house with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms on a private, beautifully landscaped ground. The one bedroom features a queen size bed, the second bedroom, a full size bed and a full size sofa sleeper in the living room. Also the heated attached garage has 4 twin size beds set up for larger groups. Other features include washer, dryer, dish TV, internet, bbq on wrap around deck and freezer. The cottage is fully furnished right down to Homers own locally roasted coffee. It is also tastefully decorated with an Alaskan Antique theme, with many pictures, curios and books on the 49th State.
The Cottage is located on East Skyline Drive, a picturesque drive less than 6 miles from downtown Homer
No matter the season, there is always something to do in the area. Bird watching is popular year round, as eagles soar above Bryn-Teg looking for food in both winter and summer. Within eyeshot of the cottage lies a nesting ground for magnificent sand hill cranes. A short walk from Bryn-Teg Cottage is the Wynn Nature Center. Crossman Ridge Trail is also nearby and it is a beautiful bike, hike or ski, which eventually leads to the Homestead Trail on Diamond Ridge. For a shorter hike or ski, you can't beat the trip down to Twitter Creek, a small stream where you are sure to see some beavers.
A peaceful garden partially surrounds Bryn-Teg Cottage, that moose seem to flock to in the spring, summer, and fall. In the spring it is not uncommon for baby moose to be born nearby or even on the property itself. Some of the many animals that are also our good neighbors are rabbit, bear, lynx, and coyotes.
After a day of fishing, biking, hiking, skiing, berry picking or sightseeing, you will look forward to returning to the cottage to watch the beautiful sunset of Cook Inlet. In the winter, the magnificent northern lights often light up the sky.TripAdvisor property ID 3847662...Read more

Bryn-Teg is a great place to vacation in Homer. We have stayed there multiple times and enjoyed it each time. We always walk in the door knowing everything is already there that we will need until we can recoop from the long journey from the east coat and take a drive out to shop. The living room is comfortable, the beds are plush and comfy and so is the wrap around porch. After all the nights staying there next to Bobby and Lyni I finally thought of something they need to add. I think they should have a fire-pit. Usually we don't get much time in talking to them cause we are going out to fish and shop. But if they had a pit with chairs then we could all sit by the fire and catch up. We have been going about every three years. The yards are so inviting already but a place to spend an evening chatting would be nice and relaxing.

Great proximity to fishing locations in Homer, Anchor Point, and Ninilchik!!! Warm and friendly place with great owners and a beautiful view! Great for multiple families, or just a couple that wants a little room to spread out. We will be booking here for our next trip!

Daughter got married in Homer and we had lots of family visiting. The cottage was wonderful. The Borlands were wonderful hosts, the cottage was absolutely spotless, the garden plentiful with vegetables and the flowers were spectacular!! We recommend it to all our friends and relatives.

This is the perfect place to stay for two couples or a family traveling together. The two comfortable bedrooms and two immaculate bathrooms afford privacy while the common areas offer relaxation. The hosts, one a third generation alaskan, have a vast collection of alaska memorabilla that is fascinating. It isn't unusual to find a plate of fresh baked cookies on the kitchen counter after checking in!
