Waikiki Oceanfront Condo One Bedroom w/Large Lanai Honolulu, Hawaii
Additional Location Information
Our condo is located in the famous Ilikai Hotel on the Oceanfront in beautiful Waikiki Beach. Waikiki Beach stretches from Diamond Head to the mouth of the Ala Wai Canal. We are two hotels from the mouth of the Ala Wai and right next door to the Hilton Hawaiian Village and Fort Derussy Beach Park. The beaches in front of the hotel are not quite as crowded or noisy as those located closer to Diamond Head. The lanai overlooks the Hilton Lagoon and Duke Kahanamoku Beach Park. Ala Moana Beach Park, Magic Island and the fabulous Ala Moana Shopping Center are all just a short walk. There are two Yacht Clubs and numerous restaurants nearby ranging from casual, inexpensive, to world class fine dining, and there are two restaurants right in the Hotel! The Bus, trolleys, shuttles, taxis and all tour busses stop just in front of the hotel and although there is valet parking at the hotel and inexpensive parking behind the hotel or just across the street, you really don't need a car for your days in Waikiki. For the days you want to spend touring the island, there are several car rental agencies just across the street.

“All what Hal promised was true... This place is to dream on...”
This is the place to be for a great vacation. All what you expect from a 6 stars place, do it yourself... Great location for walk, for take a taxi, catch the bus, go to the beach, night entertainment, lunch&dinner;, shop, live Waikiki style... Include a Tuesday or a Sunday night in you stay and enjoy fireworks too... Beside the place, the lanai view, amenities and the great value, Hal is an excellent concierge, he will make the best suggestions to make your stay even better.
I stayed at Hal and Nadine's condo here at the Ilikai and it was just perfect for me. Great view and very clean and quiet. Very close to beach-short walk and you are there. Right on bus line so can go anywhere. Got to see the luau at the Hilton from lanai as well as the Friday night fireworks. Enjoyed myself very much! Mahalo to Hal and Nadine
Being first timers to Hawaii and Trip advisor we were excited to find a place close to the beach for a good price. We had done our homework and found hotels in Waikiki very expensive. When we arrived the apartment was clean, had kitchen facilities, kingsize bed, laundry facilities on every floor, large balcony and to the right the most awesome view of Waikiki. Most mornings/nights were spent on the balcony and on Friday night we were entertained with fireworks from the Hilton, just magic!! Every night the Hilton have a show with dancers and you see this from your balcony. The first Hawaii Five O was filmed here and while being an older hotel it's well maintained, shop in foyer, section downstairs where staff help plan outings, wi-fi and phone connected if needed and valet parking. We used the valet parking a few times and while abit expensive it was good to drive into the hotel and have your rental car parked after a long day sightseeing, our laptop and phone were connected without any problems. The close proximity to Waikiki, the main bus route across the road, shuttle buses outside the hotel, rental cars/bikes, restaurants and shops close by make this location ideal. You are not in the heart of Waikiki, but the walk to the beach is safe and takes 5 mins with access to all major hotels, bars, shops and cafes. The hotel has a bar downstairs and we did have breakfast one morning, drinks one afternoon, but the service wasn't great so we didn't go back. You also have a rooftop restaurant/bar with happy hour every night. Go check this out if only for the view. Hal and Nadine who own the apartment are wonderful. No problems paying, they kept in touch with emails, sent photos, suggested trips and if we had any problems who to call. "5 star all the way Hal and Nadine" we certainly appreciated your unit. Many thanks, enjoy the bottle of red :)
“Outstanding place to stay for short or lengthier duration.”
It was truly a great stay. Can't thank Hal and Nadine enough for sharing their beautiful condo with us. A week isn't long enough but we did quite a bit in our short time. We appreciated the proximity of so many great, unique places just on the south side of the island. The only traveling we did we took a trolley to diamond head, a tour to hanamua bay, and a shuttle to pearl harbor. On the beach we surfed and took a sunset cruise, the cruise was really nice, something I would recommend to friends. We really appreciated the lanai, especially for starting the day with breakfast. The dining was outstanding all week, a couple favorites were Sarrento's and Orchids at the Halekulani. The Ilikai bar and grill is a nice open air bar on the ground level which we appreciated throughout the days. Once again the condo was beautiful and provided everything we needed for hassle free enjoyment.

“Perfect location with a great view.”
Booking, check-in, and check-out were easy. Sparks and Nadine had plenty of information on local points of interest and were so pleasant to work with. My wife and I stayed for ten days in late June through early July. The unit is located in the quieter area of Waikiki by the marina. Approximately one mile east towards downtown there are crowded streets bustling with tourists from every corner of the globe, restaurants, clubs, etc. If you are looking for quiet evenings without the noise of traffic and revelers when you are ready to lie down for the night, you found the right spot. When renting a car, which is what we did, parking is valet only unless you wish to bother with the Marina parking lot or the other public parking decks about a block or two away. I strongly advise keeping a smart phone handy as I would have become lost numerous times without it. The navigation function in addition to travel applications eliminated the need to rent internet service at an additional fee. There are lots of one way streets and construction, so bring your patience if you decide to drive yourself. Thanks so much Sparks and Nadine! We know where we're staying on our next trip to Waikiki.

“A fantastic stay in Hawaii”
My husband and I recently stayed at the Ilikai Hotel for 10 nights. We had never rented a private condo before but Hal and Nadine were so helpful throughout the booking process and gave us such great advice and information about things to do all over the island. Our highlight was renting mopeds for a day and exploring the stunning beaches on the eastern side of the island as well as our game fishing day with Tony of Island Charters Sportfishing (islandchartershawaii). For a nice casual meal we would recommend The Yard House and Todai had the freshest sushi we have ever eaten. If you're in Hawaii for a special occasion then head to Orchids at the Halekulani Hotel. It was one of the best meals we've ever had! We will highly recommend Hal and Nadine's apartment to all of our family and friends!
“Awesome Stay - Can't go wrong!!”
Ilikai is a wonderful, open aired hotel is the most perfection location for Waikiki, Ala Moana Shopping center and the beach. We spent 8 night is this condo and could not be happier with our selection. It fit all our needs!! If you can read the Ilikai Trip advisors reviews remember the condo is in the hotel but has separate conditions. We felt like we had all the benefits from a nice hotel but more since we rented this condo!! The first floors of the hotel were under going renovation but never bothered us as we were on the 18th floor. The condo has a kitchenette with coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans... really anything you would need should you want to stay in and cook. Everything was very clean. Our favorite part of the condo was the balcony. In the morning we sat out drinking coffee watching the beach/lagoon/pool come to life. At night the lights and view were awesome. This hotel is right across the street from the Hilton and you can see their luau in the evenings. Friday night there are fireworks in front of the lagoon. You have a birds eye view from the balcony. What a great display!! The restaurant in the hotel offers great food and again - an awesome view. Our son is stationed in the Coast Guard and had to report back to base early in the morning. We used valet parking each day (24 hours service) and the staff were always polite and super attentive. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get our car. There is less expensive parking in the back of the hotel but that lot has time limits that we did not want to deal with. Location, location, location!! The Ilikai is located on the south side of Waikiki beach making it easy to get to the Uscg base and in walking distance to the beach and downtown Waikiki. You really can not go wrong staying here. We would absolutely rent this condo next time we visit Oahu!!

“Great Location with Perfect views”
I took my parents for their first time to Oahu. The location was perfect. Easy to get around and close to many things you want to see and do on your first time to Honolulu. Hal was great and easy to work with and such a kind person. He and his wife helped to make my folks trip memorable. My parents took the King bed and I took the sofa pullout. Cozy but comfortable and we had everything we needed to make our stay very nice. Thanks Hal!

“A great place to stay!”
Being a frequent visitor to Oahu and having stayed at many Waikiki hotels/condos, we have found the Ilikai to be the best location - and our accommodations in 1842 were superb. The clean, attractive and comfortable unit provided us with all the amenities we needed for our week long stay on two occasions. With a fully equipped kitchen, living room with a sofa sleeper, and bedroom (with a comfortable king size bed) that can be closed off from the living room for privacy, we found it to be roomier (and quieter) than any of the other Waikiki properties we've stayed in. The spectacular view from the large private lanai looks over to the famous Hilton Hawaiian Lagoon and beyond to the ocean and popular surf spots. Set directly in front of the ala Wai Yacht Harbor and located at the 'gateway to Waikiki', it's a short walk to the beach (either Waikiki or ala Moana Beach Park) and in close proximity and walking distance to any type of shopping that fits your needs. At such an attractive rate, anyone staying here will not be disappointed.
“Doesn't get any better than this.”
From go to wo our stay at the Ilikai was very pleasurable, indeed. The condo was bright, clean, airy and spatious and was a pleasure to return to after our many days taking in the many varied attractions that the tropical paradise of Waikiki offers. Its hard to pick our favourite part of our stay with so many great competing memories. I could say the beautiful beach, the many differing food options, the gorgeous sunsets, great waves.. the list goes on and on. However if I had to choose I would have to say the balcony ( lanai) gets my vote. Many a relaxing morning and evening was spent gazing towards the wide blue expanse of the Pacific. Staff at the Ilikai were competent and friendly and made our stay run as smoothy as a finely tuned Swiss watch. The only thing I didn't like about staying at Hal's condo in the Ilikai was having to leave and come back home. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed in any way, shape or form if you choose to stay at the Ilikai for your Hawaiian holiday. Absolute comfort, paradise guaranteed! Aloha.
