The "AdamsView-1" unit is the 2 bedroom, 1,350 sq ft upper floor of the home. What is spectacular about this home is the breadth of the Gorge view and the Mt. Adams view compared to most other 2 bdrm units in town, along with a rare garage for storing your outdoor gear and being just far enough away from freeway/train/downtown noise. It is located inside Hood River town close to Jackson Park and the Swim/Tennis Center. From the living room, master bedroom and balcony there is a 140 degree view of the other side of the Gorge, and glacier-capped Mt. Adams. While you're sipping your morning coffee on the balcony, you can see the river in front of the Event-Site to check out wind and wave conditions before you go sailing or kite-boarding (binoculars provided).
The house is sited on the edge of a small bluff so the neighboring houses and trees are below your view sight lines which also provides nice privacy.

Just a 5 minute walk is the large aquatic center pools, tennis courts, softball field, soccer field, a Thursday farmer's market and Jackson Park's amphitheater with free summer weekend concerts and movies. The only grocery store close to downtown is a 90 second drive down the hill. The start of downtown is about a dozen blocks to the east - a 15 minute walk or a 4-minute drive or a short bike, to Hood River's great amenities. The house is also close to the Heights neighborhood with more options for restaurants, shops, the other grocery store, and fruit stands. Of course, there are numerous options to enjoy Hood River's world-famous windsurfing and kite-boarding sites (Event-Site, Hook, The Marina, and Spit are a 6-8 minute drive).
Go west to visit several close-by best-of-the-region wineries, within 8 minutes by bike (Cathedral Ridge (great Pinots); Marchesi (sumptuous Italian).. Also a short bike ride to the west is the Post Canyon trails complex (2 mi. to single-track) which has some of the best mountain bike single-track and free-riding trails on the west coast (70+ miles of trails). Closer to Mt. Hood and across the river are many dozens of hiking, waterfalls and mt bike trails. A Gorge hiking guide is supplied.
From the entry, the kitchen is immediately to the right, with dining area adjoining. 2010 all stainless steel appliances (convection double-oven, built-in smooth-top 4-burner cooktop, built-in microwave, modern tile counter, black-granite sink, large bottom-freezer refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster, coffee-maker & grinder. Lots of counter space and stocked with some basic condiments and spices, pots & pans, dishes, glasses, etc. From the dining table, there is even a partial view of the steep, rugged north face of Mt. Hood, which completes the fairly rare “Hood River 2-mountain view”.
Further past the entry, to your right is the large living room with a comfortable, large, sectional sofa, with a great view of the Gorge and Mt. Adams. A sliding glass door opens onto the 32 x 8 ft. cedar balcony with a solid railing for privacy and safety. The balcony has a dining table for 6, plus comfy lounge chairs/ottomans, and a Weber gas grill BBQ with side-burner. The large north-facing balcony has welcome shade on hot summer days and is sheltered from much of the famous Gorge winds.
From the entry, turn left to the bathroom with modern double-sinks and large, remodeled shower. Also to the left of the entry is the master bedroom (12 x 16 ft) which has the same special view of the gorge/Mt. Adams… what an inspiring sight to wake up to! The second bedroom is slightly smaller, (without gorge view). Bedrooms have ultra-comfortable foam-mattress/pillow-top King beds with quality linens, a large double-closet, plus a chest of drawers for the master. The optional 3rd bed is a super comfortable, premium queen-size AeroBed with built-in pump that inflates in 3 minutes to a 22” height. It's much more comfortable than most sleeper-sofas.
The 2-car garage has one bay available for storing your vehicle and/or drying/storing your gear (The other bay is for AdamsView-2), plus your own dedicated clothes washer/dryer. The many trees in the front yard offer generous shade for driveway parking. Fits 2 cars in your half of the circle driveway + 1 in garage, plus ample on-street parking.
The home has a 2010, premium, central heating/cooling system with electronic air cleaner, and a completely separate thermostat and ducting just for your unit.

Our close-in neighborhood is MUCH quieter than places right in downtown or adjacent to downtown's I-84 and train noise, and scarce parking. Enjoy a more peaceful environment at our place while being closer to the grocery store and other amenities such as the Swim/Tennis center, Farmers Market and Jackson Park. 2nd-time visitors often choose our place, because it's quieter, with much better views, a garage and ample parkng, versus almost all other 2 bdrm places in town.
