We rented this house with our family from Texas and Louisiana for Thanksgiving. The house was perfect for all of us! We made priceless memories. We go to HSV for Thanksgiving every other year and will definitely look into this place the next time.

We loved the DeSoto house. The kitchen was furnished well with all sorts of cooking utensils, pots & pans, etc. We had plenty of beds for all the family, and enough floor space to bed down the little children! The access to the lake provided fishing, and the view was tranquil and beautiful.
My only 'complaint' is that the dishwasher had been left full of dirty dishes and water, and it really smelled when we checked in. I'm assuming the caretaker just failed to get it on a complete cycle. The washer and dryer were very very slow, so we had difficulty getting the towels washed and dried before we had to leave. Perhaps a detailed instruction sheet to visitors could help them alleviate that challenge.
We had lots of room, plenty of privacy, enough parking, and enjoyed the location very much. Take your family and go!

We had the most wonderful time, the house was perfect...so much room. It made for the best extended family vacation ever. We definitely want to go back there again. Totally worth the price and the owners are wonderful to work with.
