Hua Hin, Thailand's Royal Beach Town

Our 3-bedroom house with private pool is located in Hua Hin, 130 miles south of Bangkok. Hua Hin has been the beach getaway for the Kings of Thailand since 1925 when King Rama VII built a palace to escape from the big city.

We are located about 1.5 miles (under 10 mins by car or taxi) from the town center in a private village with 24/7 security at the gate. Hua Hin town is well-supplied with shops, services, restaurants, pubs, banks and shopping malls. Hua Hin city beach which is over 2 miles/3km long with food and drink never far away.

Our house is fully-furnished to western standards with Euro-style kitchen including dishwasher and laundry ...Read more

Additional Location Information

NOTE: The main road through Hua Hin north-south is called Phetchkasem (Pet-ka-sem). Larger roads are called "thanon" and side streets are called "soi". Odd and even-numbered sois are on opposite sides of main roads. BUT even and odd-number sois are not always across from each other.

Our house is a lovely 3-bed 2-bathroom pool villa with private garden in 375 sq m. Euro kitchen, dishwasher, laundry washer, air con in all bedrooms plus ceiling fans. Furnished in Thai style. Large shaded veranda. We are located in a quiet, secure estate just 5-mins. walk from two Thai temples with panoramic views and the Elephant Village where you can experience an elephant ride and take home great photos.

A farmer's market is held every Wednesday and Sunday 15-20 mins walk down soi 56 (aka Thanon (road) 62) or 5 mins by car. Just walk out of the village, turn left then left again at the crossroads 100 metres/yards away. The market features excellent farm-fresh fruit and vegetables plus meat, seafood and cooked snacks. There are some good, reasonably priced restaurants located in a side street to the right just before the farmer's market, many visitors enjoy New Nop Nice Restaurant here, a lively family-run place. A 7-11 shop and ATM machines are across the road from the market along with a selection of more small Thai restaurants and noodle shops.

Hua Hin centre is 10 mins (3km) by tuk-tuk taxi (pick-up at house is 150-200 baht ($5-7). Most tuk-tuk drivers will have a business card with their phone number, just ask. They like to have repeat customers and sometimes will reduce their rates if you use them regularly. They will also pick you up and take you home from your destination, just arrange time and round-trip price with him/her. If you prefer a regular taxi Mr. Not is often at the main entry to our village and has a nice car.
Western groceries are available at the Tesco Lotus hypermarket in the large Market Village mall about 1km south of Hua Hin centre on Phetchkasem Road. Closer to the centre on the same side of the same road is Villa Market with a good upscale selection of western foods.

A French bakery (The Baguette) is at the foot of soi 56 (continuation of Thanon 62) on the opposite side of Phetchkasem Road. Eat-in or take away high quality goods such as croissants, quiches, meat pies and other tasty treats at reasonable prices.

A friendly convenience store is right outside the KaoNoi Village estate gate. She sells beer, drinking water, soft drinks, snacks, eggs etc. and will deliver larger items like 5-gallon jugs of purified water, just pay at the shop and it will be delivered promptly.

The downtown nightlife area with restaurants, pubs/bars, cafes and discos is centered between the large Hua Hin temple on Phetchkasem Road and the Hilton hotel. The blue Hilton electric sign serves as a landmark and is visible from almost everywhere in Hua Hin.

The main large night market and the main Hua Hin daily fresh market are in the town centre on Sa Song Road. A second night market is located beside San Paulo Hospital on Phetchkasem Road a few hundred yards south of center Hua Hin.

"All In Hua Hin" is a very good German bakery and deli with cheeses and cold cuts on Sa Song Road 200m south of the fresh market. Enjoy good and tasty western breakfasts or a wiener schnitzel for dinner!

Hua Hin town beach is located in the center of town. It is 2 miles/3km long but can be quite busy. The best beach is at Son Suan army base (free public access) 10km/15 mins south of town centre. Clean, quiet and shaded with tables, chairs, food and drink available. The military does not allow vendors, ponies or jet skis.

Keep fit at Hua Hin Sport Villa 1 km south of Market Village mall, 40 baht/day or 900/month to use a clean, decently-equipped gym with machines, bikes and weights. Another, ;arger gym is @letic on soi 88 near San Paulo hospital. Half a dozen quality golf courses are within 30 mins. Several golf tour companies located in the entertainment area can book rounds of golf and provide transportation. Family fun can be enjoyed at Black Mountain Water Park just 15 mins away and fully-equipped with pools, water slides etc.
Cycling can be enjoyable on the surrounding side roads with varied terrain. Be careful as many motorists drive quickly!
