Even though it wasnt Christmas .. it felt like it

The accomodation is more than adequate and every thing was catered for, lounge cosy and suitable for two with a separate dining room. The kitchen is nicely decorated and again every thing had been though of. Bedrooms upstairs made or good sleeping !!!
Being in the centre it was lovely to go for walks through the village and into the countryside with out moving your car.

A spacious house in a central location

There were plenty of bedrooms (all with bathrooms) for the whole family which meant we had our own spaces. The living area was very spacious. The kitchen was not especially well equipped but as we ate out most of the time this did not bother us much. The garden would be good for eating out though we didn't use it. Very clean, everything needed was provided and the owners were most welcoming. Qiuet but only a short drive to the main ashbourne to Buxton road. The pub The Jug and Glass a couple of miles towards Buxton do very good meals at sensible prices.

On the good side, the furnishings were quite new and of reasonable quality, both in the living room and in the bedrooms.

Great Venue - in derbyshire NOT norflok

We came here to enjoy a ten year sixth form reunion with some of our group having young babies. The venue was great, with a large communal area which was perfect for our requirements. the 'snug' helped to create a smaller communal area where people could watch a DVD or have a little quiet time away from general baby chatter etc. Excellent venue for board games, general wanderings and reminiscing.

What a great find!

9 of us stayed for four days, for a relaxing break.

The barn conversion is fantastic. Very high quality fixtures and fittings, clean, comfortable bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms for a property that sleeps 14. You could easily fit 3 families in without them falling over each other. The hot tub is an added bonus...

Compact and comfortable

This little cottage contains all that is necessary for a great holiday in the Peak Districk. We found the location very good and central for visiting all of the area and it's attractions including Chatworth House,Matlock Bath,the Heights of Abraham and Alton Towers. Great pubs in Hartingham
and very good area for walking. The owners were always on hand but never made their presence obvious.

Modern, clean, great for large groups

This property is really spacious, there were 10 of us and a few kids and there was plenty of space. The bedrooms are lovely, the property does have the 'wow' factor when you first walk in which I don't think really shows on the photos. Lovely, comfortable and clean accommodation. Youlgreave is a lovely village and makes a great base for exploring this area. We did several walks, all very scenic, there are several walks straight from the door, so you don't even have to take the car ( a bonus becuase the parking is in a yard, and space is tight).

We have stayed a lightwood Cottage a couple of times over the last year. The cottage is well furnished and equipped, clean and is conveniently located both for Buxton and open countryside. We travelled to Buxton by train but there is ample car parking at the property. We will almost certainly return and would recommend the cottage for an enjoyable break.

Service we got was fantastic even down to the biscuits and milk and tea that was in for us arrivind. The cottage is pristine clean with everthing you need for your stay. The location was what we wanted in the country but close enough for the town. Friendly and very convenient

The on-site landlords of this property are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The apartment is brilliant for two people and comfortable as well as being nicely presented. The property is five minutes walk from the town centre and the railway station as well as the bus stops, and ten minutes walk from aldi.

Booked this property, along with the larger neighbouring barn (both owned by the same person) to enjoy an extended family break - there were 21 of us in all. Six of us stayed in Curlew Barn.
