B&B The five senses... tickled by the sea

Wide and peaceful room in an old monastery built on the sea, with thick walls and vaulted ceiling.

My house is located in the ancient village of Ischia Ponte not far from the harbour and the commercial streets, as well as from the hills and the inner parts of the island, where you can enjoy beautiful walks. The island of Ischia has a long and rich history (first Greek settlement in the western Mediterranean sea), is well known for its thermal waters and is also called “the green island” for the rich vegetation that covers it. Additional Location Information

My apartment used to be part of a XIIIth century monastery. Built near the sea, it has a 180° view from the Aragonese Castle to Punta Molino, through the Vesuvius, the Islands of Procida and Vivara and the Italian coast. The apartment has thick walls and vaulted ceilings, and a balcony on strong arches. The room is wide and peaceful, heated in winter, overlooking the sea.
Ischia is located in the Gulf of Naples. Once you reached Naples by airplane or train you take a boat or an “aliscafo” (hydrofoil) from Naples harbour to Ischia.
When you arrive on the island of Ischia go in the direction of the Aragonese Castle (by taxi, bus - n.7- or with a pleasant 30 min. walk) . When in Ischia Ponte, you will find the white church of the Holy Spirit on your right. In front of it: Largo Convento. The entrance is the main door on the left, in front of you.
You can hire a boat, enjoy scuba diving, go to spa and other thermal springs, visit museums and archaeological sites, walk alone or on organized trekking, taste fish and the typical Ischian cuisine… Ischia has everything!
Some events :
April – Actus Tragicus : Via Crucis with period costumes
16-18 May – Feast of Santa Restituta, Woman patron saint of the island - Forio
30 June-7 July 2014 - Ischia Film Festival – Ischia Ponte - Ischia was the location of many films, from "The crimson pirate" (1952) to "Avanti!" (1972), to "The talented Mr Ripley" (1999) etc.
26 July –Sant’Anna feast on the sea – Ischia Ponte
26 August - Sant’Alessandro Feast : parade of period costumes in the streets of Ischia
27 August -3 September – Feast of the patron saint of the island: San Giovangiuseppe della Croce
And much more.
