“Amazing way to spend a honeymoon!”
A perfect setting with a private beach and a beautifully decorated 'cottage' - hard to beat. A very natural feel to the house which makes you feel like you could stay forever. Spoilt for space for just one couple or comfortable for a group of four - definitely somewhere I would return.
“A Piece of Paradise”
I really do not want to write this review, because I want to keep Los Cocos as my secret; but the owners are such wonderful people that I feel I should. My husband and I spent a week here this December, 2013, and just loved it. It was our private oasis on the beach in Vieques. I don't think you can be any closer to the ocean without being in the ocean. D'Arla, the property manager, is extremely helpful and accommodating. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners while there, Jennifer, as she was meeting with workmen at the property next store which she and Jeff just purchased. Needless to say, my husband and I would love to return to Los Cocos, only this time for more than one week.

Thanks Lauren for your kind words - I definitely remember our past guests - you are now VIP :) It was a pleasure meeting you and Jay and hopefully you'll be able to see the house next door finished when you return to VQS. So glad you enjoyed your time at Los Cocos!

“Exceeded our high expectations!”
Three of us stayed at Los Cocos for the first week of November, and I can definitely confirm that the house lives up to the high ratings. The layout is very well-planned and comfortable, with a nice kitchen, lovely outdoor shower, and lots of great places to relax and read a book. We also enjoyed the huge patio with great views and lovely breezes. The clothes line is a great addition as well - I wish more rental homes took advantage of this. The waves were huge in front of the house for most of the week and it was great to watch the surfers and meet people out on La Chata. The house is so close to the ocean that the sound of the waves is loud in every room - we all slept great with that relaxing sound and it meant that we didn't have to all keep to the same schedule as the waves masked the sounds of people moving about in the house. We've stayed at a few other rentals on the island and this was definitely the most comfortable as far as temperature due to the constant ocean breeze and walls of windows that can be left open. One drawback during our stay was the mosquitoes. There were quite a few in the house, but we couldn't find a source, I think perhaps previous guests left the house open at an inopportune time. We just made sure we used the mosquito nets when going to bed and bug spray when we got up. This was a very minor inconvenience and would not at all impact our desire to stay there again in the future. Overall, I think that you cannot beat this rental for the location, the amazing views, and comfortable breezes. D'Arla mentioned that it was pretty much booked up through May and I can see why it is such a popular choice!
“Los Cocos Encore”
This is my 2nd trip to Los Cocos and the 1st one was so great I stayed for 2 weeks this time. The caretaker D'Arla showed off the new changes but Los Cocos is still home, it has lost none of its charm. My 1st stop was the outside shower. There is something about looking out into the garden while the sun shines, the fresh smell of outdoors and hearing all the surrounding sounds while a few geckos to keep you company. Next stop was out the back gate to La Chata beach and the blue water. The color blue has never been so inviting and tranquil. After a nice leisurely swim, snorkeling and playing in the waves for awhile it was time to fire up the grill for dinner. Also hammock time. There is nothing like swinging to the rhythm of the waves while enjoying some much need down time and a few drinks. At night the waves and the coquis sing a beautiful lullaby as you drift off to sleep. Waking with the sun and walking along the beach is a great way to start the day at Los Cocos. The hardest decision of the day for me, do I stay at Los Cocos or do I go to another beach. Many times La Chata won out. Though you don't need a vehicle at Los Cocos getting hold to one won't hurt. You can explore the island and all it has to offer. D'Arla was more than happy to let us rent her vehicle so we could go out and explore many of the places we didn't get to the 1st time around. Esperanza is a great starting point, good places to eat, nice tourist spot and Sun Bay (great beaches) is nearby. Kind of different than Isabel II but in a good way. Jennifer and D'Arla can answer just about any question you may have and are helpful with making suggestions on what to see and do. Here are my suggestions for Los Cocos: Watch the sun rise at least once while there. Walk the beach. Walk to town. Take the ferry to the mainland. Try the local food, it's great. Eat a meal on the roof. Take a nap in the hammock. Read a good book. Just become a local while there. It's easy.

“Loss Cocos = Paradise!”
Jennifer is crazy for sharing Los Cocos as a vacation rental, however my husband and I were delighted to take advantage of the situation! Los Cocos (or "House of awesome" for those who don't understand Spanish) is located on La Chata beach. My husband snorkeled directly in front of the home until his fingers wrinkled. I read that there are 20 or so beaches on the entire island and I'm positive that they are all gorgeous, but this was our first trip to Vieques and our anniversary so we didn't spend a whole lot of our trip "exploring". The beach in front of the house had sand and water which happened to be perfect for us. Details -The photos and description on FlipKey were spot-on, but the outdoor area is simply breathtaking...! -No a/C or cable, but who cares? There was wi-fi and beach gear (snorkel masks, chairs, etc...the property manager, D'Arla even let us use her knee board). -Nearest town is Isabel II (The ferry landing is closer than the small airport); we ate Chinese food (Ask D'Arla), authentic beans and rice from Banana's, good food from Mamasongi's and D'Arla has a delicious fruit smoothie stand. -Rent a car if you plan to leave Los Cocos-period. -It rained every night but the sun came out every morning. It was very tropical-like weather (AKa "hot n' muggy), but its an island... We have not stayed in any other house in Vieques, nor do we want to. I believe the difference between an average vacation rental and "House of awesome" is the love and care of the owners...Jennifer and Jeff. Cant wait to book our next trip!

“Los cocos is a paradaise”
Mi wife and me went to los cocos vieques in July. This place was great and very beutifull. It's a good romantic setting and a very peacefull place as well. The owners are very honest and caring people. I will recomend los cocos vieques eyes closed!!! The place is well prepared for a beach stay and the appliances are in great condition. God bless this place and the people whom will stay in it!!
“Great! Great! Great!”
Great house, terrific location, nice beach, good snorkeling right out front. Jennifer was very helpful in setting up the rental, and d'arla was great, working with us to make her car avail when we needed it, it made our trip just that much more enjoyable. Very easy logistics! We spent 5 nights at Los Cocos and enjoyed every minute of it. Quiet area, and while we never did walk into town, we could have. Recommendations on eating would be Tin Box, and Conuco. Thanks again d'arla and Jennifer!!!

You will not find a better location or view on Vieques, and you will not find a more beautiful or serene island in the Caribbean. Stop tearing your hair out trying to find the perfect spot for your dream vacation--you're looking at it. Book it now! Jenni is wonderfully helpful and we were lucky enough to have her personally greet us at the ferry terminal and give us the tour of Los Cocos. The house is beautiful; the master bedroom is romantic and comfortable; the outdoor shower is amazing; the kitchen is fully stocked with all of the necessities and there are a half-dozen fantastic spots to lounge about (and lounge you will). Nearly every day we returned from exploring the awesome beaches on the island to our own private paradise. We propped open the beach gate and relaxed in the hammocks with a cold beer and a good book until sunset (and what a sunset!) and then migrated indoors to camp out on the comfy, colorful chaise lounges. With all of the louvres cranked open, we let cool sea breeze and sounds of the ocean lull us to sleep. Eats and Drinks --- -Check out al's Mar azul (a 10-minute walk from Los Cocos) if you want a cold drink in a homey dive which just so happens to have the best sunset view on the island. -Head to the Tin Box for slow-smoked barbecue, fresh oysters, craft beer, veggies grown out back and the best bacon you'll ever devour. -In Esperanza, Belly Buttons has a great american-style breakfast with a view of the bay and you can't forget Duffy's, with a huge selection of seafood and microbrews. There are great restaurants all along the malécon and they all have a view. Beaches --- -You can trek all around the island but it's hard to beat La Chata, three steps out the beach gate. Bask in the sun, swim to the sandbar and enjoy some fantastic snorkeling right outside your house. -Navio is for the body-surfers, and La Chiva and Playuela are the best spots to camp out in a beach chair and enjoy the view.

Hey Scott and Tiffany! It was so fun to meet you and show you around, I could tell you were gonna love Vieques :) Thanks for the great review and hope to see you again soon!
“A wonderful time!”
Everyone who wrote about such exceptional experiences were absolutely correct.Your beach house was a pleasure to stay at. Thank-You so much for letting us stay there, we had an excellent time exploring your island and just relaxing at Los cocos. I was completely captivated by the climate and the constant lull of the waves breaking. It rained a little every day, just enough to water the land.I was able to swim everyday and I did a little snorkeling. The Bio Bay was very interesting and sun beach was a beautiful beach to swim in, my husband was able to go up to his neck there (he doesn't swim ).The beach at the house was a little rough the first few days we were there but it gradually became calmer which was nice. After I load my pics on my laptop I'll send you the one of the Puerto Ricon man lovingly giving his horse a bath out front of your house. I find myself eating mangos everyday since I got back. It's still so cold here I miss being there.your recommendation of the 'dirty banana " was dead on,. I thought Esperanza was such a quaint little town, I need to explore that again.Again, Thank-You again, Alex and I had a wonderful time

“A Perfect Find”
I can't say enough about how wonderful our trip to Vieques and stay at Los Cocos was. It was everything we could have dreamed of. The island is such a great place to visit. The house speaks for itself. It is even more beautiful than the pictures. We especially liked eating at the Cafe Mamasonga's. Their breakfasts are great and their seafood stew is to die for. They don't open till 9 and close after lunch, and reopen at 6 for dinner. So don't assume they are closed for the day The Tin Box on the other side of the island is very interesting. They grow much of their produce on site. If you're looking for a fresh salad you will definately find it there. Duffy's has the best beer selection on island and the food is okay. You really can't go wrong with this house and this island as a vacation destination. We loved every minute of it. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner. She is a wonderful, friendly person who made us feel like family. Thanks Jenni!
