The house was spacious, there was lots of room in the common areas, plenty of beds, and the kitchen had plenty of room for cooking and eating. The waterfront was lovely, with great sunset views, and the water skiing in that part of the reservoir was terrific.
But there was no dishwasher, and when there are 15 people in a house, that's a problem. Also, there were no closets or dressers in most of the bedrooms. Where are you supposed to put clothes?! And finally, it was really hot and stuffy at night. The upper floor had almost no windows, and the house has no aC. The fans were not much help. The door to the deck on the upper floor was locked, and so we could not get any air flow through the house.
The dock needs repair, or replacing.

We loved the decor of the Knotty Pine Lodge and are pleased that you allowed us to share your home. We had plenty of rooms and beds and the gameroom was fantastic. Unfortunately, we found the steps to the boat dock very dangerous. On numerous occasions, we had to readjust and move the steps ourselves, as they were not anchored to anything. There were at least two windows that were labeled as "broken, do not open." I was surprised that a home that was rented more than 6 months in advance would have items that were in need of immediate repair. The trash compactor also had a note on it that said it was not working either. I realize that a dish washer was not listed as an amentity, but I think with that many people in one house, it would be a great addition. Overall, the inside/outside of the home lacked maintenance, but we enjoyed our visit there. Due to the circumstances listed above, we are undecided if we will return. Read more
Thanks to this renter and many others; the homeowners have rebuilt the water retaining wall and installed cement stairs to the dock.

The description stated that there was a full kitchen - as a family of 16, we expected that the kitchen included a dishwasher, good quality cookware and that there would be enough hot water for daily showers. This beautiful home should not be rented until the pathway to the dock is improved, the hot water issue is fixed and life jackets are provided for the paddle boat and kayak (we were told they weren't provided in Idaho, but have rented several home, all of which included life jackets with watercraft!). The representative from Rainbow Rentals was unresponsive (w/the exception of replacing two lightbulbs & bringing us a fan because of poor ventilation upstairs) and told us that there were no problems w/the hot water tank. Very disappointed w/the service, attitude and misrepresentation of the home's amenities. I would never recommend Rainbow Realty or the rental of this home. Such a shame, because it's really a beautiful home.

We loved every minute of our stay! Having a private dock was wonderful. We got in plenty of skiing, swimming and tubing. It was also so nice to have access to the paddle boat and kayak. The owner's son stopped by to make a repair to the dock and he told us about catching crayfish with a flashlight at night--so we added another activity. It has everything you could want for summer fun and plenty of room for the family to spread out. We hope to return if it is still available in 2-3 years. Read more
We hope that you will come back. Glad to know that you had a great time.

We enjoyed a wonderful 4 days at Island Park staying in the very spacious and beautiful Knotty Pine Lodge. This lodge was perfect for our family of 18 with adequate beds and bathroom space. There was plenty of room to spread out. We all thoroughly enjoyed out time here and would definitely return to this location. Read more
