“Prime Location, Excellent apartment.” We chose apartment Taurus based on it's location. Also, the pictures posted on the site are very accurate. The two-bedroom apartment is very large, clean, and updated with modern amenities. It also has a small balcony overlooking the town and harbor. If you are taking a ferry from Split, the steps that lead up to the apartment will be right in front of you as you get off the ferry. I gave the location 4 stars instead of 5 only because it is quite a hike up to the apartment - over 100 steps! Luckily, the owner's husband was kind enough to meet us at the port and help us with our luggage - we had two large suitcases. All restaurants, shops, and markets are within walking distance from the apartment. Communicating with Mirka was also easy. Prior to the trip we emailed back and forth with various questions and she was quick to reply. We had a cell phone with us as well during the trip and she was prompt to reply to our text messages. Once you're there, they live in a completely separate apartment just a few steps down so you can ask them any questions. It was a great pleasure to rent this apartment from this couple. As far as the apartment itself, it was fairly large for just the two of us. The price was great for a two-bedroom in the off-season. All linens and towels were clean and all cooking and dining essentials were ready to be used. The bathroom is pretty large compared to other apartments we've stayed at in Croatia. Overall, the apartment was very comfortable and I would recommend this place to anyone who is willing to climb up those steps.

“Wonderful, relaxing break in Hvar!” Earlier this month my husband and I traveled with another couple to Croatia. Since our travel plans were ambitious, we decided to take more of a break in Hvar so that we could relax and enjoy the beautiful Croatian waters. We stayed at House Gorjana and would do so again in an instant! Nada and her husband antun were gracious hosts and the apartment was clean, comfortable and...what a view! being just a few minutes away from the center of town, we could be away from crowds and noise, park our car easily and enjoy a stunning view from our large balcony. Nada was very helpful even before the start of our trip, suggesting where to take the ferry and how to find the house. While there, she suggested activities and sites we might enjoy. Her husband antun made reservations for us at a restaurant in town. We not only had a fabulous dinner, but with the obvious personal recommendation, we enjoyed a great table and wonderful service...so good that we returned a second time! The day we left I was able to see the larger apartment the floor above ours. As stunning as our view was, this was even more amazing! It has one more bedroom and a large living room, so it is great for a large family or 3 couples, with ample shared living space. We highly recommend House Gorjana, not only for it's great location, amenities and view, but for the very personal, warm attention given by its owners. Note that there are 3 available units: 2 smaller ones on the second floor (2 bedroom/2bath) and the larger on the top floor. Nada and antun live on the first floor and are always available should you need anything. And thank you Nada for suggesting we stop in Ston on the way to Dubrovnik. The mussels and oysters were fantastic!

“A Marvelous Spring Break” We spent a long week-end at the Heart of Hvar at the beginning of May and had a brilliant time. The apartment was clean, spacious and comfortable and the Internet connection worked a treat. Great location. We will definitely be back.

“Great Location and Great Views” Stayed for a week in august with my husband and two children 19 and 14. The place was perfect. The view from the balcony is stunning both day and night. The place has a market just two doors down and we made breakfast everyday. The downtown area is a 10 minute walk but yet you are far enough away to not hear the noise at night. The apaartment is large and each bedroom has it's own bathroom. It was a great place to come back to and just relax with the family. We loved it so much it was hard to get us out and to the beach much before late afternoon. There is also a laundry room if needed. The apartment is a 10 minute walk up from the beach where you can also rent boats. The path to the beach does have many stairs which is easy going down but does take some energy to get back up. The Hula Hula bar is directly to the left which has a young crowd and music which goes to about 9-10 PM. At the recommendation of the owner we went to the right and walked around the inlet to a quieter beach which had Falko's restuarant and bar. It was a fantastic place to get the sun and then go into Falko's for some lunch and drinks. Falko's has more 70, 80 and 90's music and hammocks and bean bag type lounge chairs. It is just a place to relax and enjoy. The town is beautiful and has many great places to eat. We rented a boat for the day and went to The Palkeni Islands which is a must where you can pull the boat into a cove and swim without any crowds. I researched for months before I booked and I could not have been happier. The owner is very helpful and we emailed him before arriving and he had a taxi waiting at the ferry. Hvar is magical already but staying here makes it even better.
