Heatherfield Lodge - luxury home, fantatstic views

Portree cottage

  • 3 bedrooms
  • 2 bathrooms
  • sleeps 6

“Lovely Relaxing Holiday” After a long drive, arriving at Heatherfield was well worth the journey. The cottage was immaculate and very well presented. We stayed with grandparents and our 1 year old son and there was more than enough space for everyone. The cottage offers a games room, for those rainy days, 3 very spacious bedrooms, a lovely kitchen/dining area with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a large living room with amazing views across to Portree. The cottage is perfectly situated with a short drive to all tourist attractions on the isle. Unfortunately the weather was against us for the first few days of our holiday which restricted us, particularly with the baby. although we were only a short drive from Portree, we were unable to walk along the main road as there were no footpaths. Apart from this small detail, we could not have been happier with our stay at Heatherfield, it was just like a home from home...with the most beautiful views. We will most definitely be back to Heatherfield with the family.

THE BARN, pet friendly in Staffin, Isle Of Skye, Ref 5690

Staffin house

“Fantastic Skye Cottage” The Barn is a wonderful cottage set in amazing scenery. The owner, John, was very helpful and endeavored to make sure we had enough peat for the fire (which was always fun to light). The cottage, recently converted, has all the amenities necessary to make a stay stress-free, and with a shop just a few feet away there is little chance of running out of the essentials. Skye has a multitude of attractions from its scenery to its wildlife and even the chance to go fossil hunting. A week is simply not enough time to explore the island and we intend to go back in the not too distant future. The only downside (albeit relatively minor) is that the cottages' location is not central so there is quite a bit of driving to be done, especially when visiting the south of the island.

“Beautiful view and lovely apartment” We had a wonderful time in this lovely studio flat. It's perfectly designed for a couple, and all with lots of attention to detail, and high quality facilities. Great hot showers for after walking. And most importantly the most incredible view from bed. Also a great location to be between Portree and Dunvegan. Joyce was very efficient and friendly, and we had a great holiday here.

“A delightful haven on the beautiful Isle of Skye” This was our fifth family summer holiday to Skye and having had a disappointing cottage last year, we were keen to find a property that was as good as the one we had rented in previous years. The three of us were not disappointed by what we saw when opening the front door. The cottage was everything we could have wanted. It was clean, superbly furnished and had all the things necessary to make a holiday enjoyable. The views from the lounge were amazing. It was lovely to watch the changing scenery and wildlife from the comfort of a warm cottage. Both bedrooms were very comfortable and we liked having the two bathrooms between us. In previous years we have stayed in Broadford, so it was good to have a more central place from which to explore the island. We even managed to visit some new area's this time. The booking process was really efficient and queries were dealt with almost by return. The owners also rang us to check that everything was to our satisfaction, which was a nice touch. Comments in the visitors book were all very complimentary. Overall, a fantastic cottage, lovely hospitality and a great holiday. We will be booking shortly for next year.

“A great base for your Skye getaway” This accomodation is very well located for getting around all the activities on Skye and is less than 15 minutes drive from Portree. The layout of the apartment is really well considered and the view across the loch is lovely. There were no negative aspects to the apartment and I would recommend this as a good choice for a holiday on Skye.

Wonderful relaxing holiday

We booked this cottage through Sykes Holiday Cottages & the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly in giving us all the information we wanted , there were also text message updates when it was time to travel to Skye about contact details to get the key for the property , which i might add was very helpful so a great experience in dealing with Sykes Cottages. The cottage itself was very clean & cosy , there is 1 main bedroom , the bathroom is just next to the bedroom , there is a kitchen come living room but there is plenty of space for both to be used at the same time , there is also a wood burning fire which gives off plenty of heat , the kitchen is modern & easy to keep clean , in the living room there is a fold down sofa if you have any guests staying . There is a small shop about 30 feet away so it was easy to get supplies of most things for our stay there , there is a slightly bigger shop in Staffin & this is a 5 min drive or if you need to do a bigger shop then call into Portree on your way up to Staffin as this is the closest town & will take about 15 to 30 mins to get to . The owner John is very friendly & helpful to all who stay there , the scenery is just breath taking & if you catch the tide just right there is a lovely beach just 5 mins walk from the cottage so it was great for our dogs for long walks , we also found the locals were very kind & friendly too & knew all the best places to go on Skye , we had a wonderful relaxing holiday there & were very reluctant to leave after our weeks holiday , we plan to return soon as it was so to our liking as holidays go , i would rate this 10/10.see more
Quality Studio with idyllic views over sea loch
Spectacular View, Great wildlife and total nature, quiet and peaceful

For those of you looking for peace in nature the drive is worth it. Isle of Skye is 5 hrs north of Edinburgh. The drive is inspiring, the mountains and lochs are pleasant . The Studio is just perfect to drop your belongings and ....relax! A welcoming Milky Way, heated floor, full kitchen with oven, Wifi. Morning came and...breathtaking views, every moment a different shade of light gave us different perspectives . Gray Seals about 50, visited every morning. Make sure you bring your binoculars. Portree is a nearby charming village and Dunvegan and its castle are a must. Come and discover!see more

Skyehaven
A wonderful home on the beautiful Isle of Skye

We have been to Scotland and of course the Isle of Skye the 1st time. Taigh na h-aibhne / Skyehaven is a magnificent place to stay. The first we realized was the stunning view from the living room through the huge "glass wall". We loved it to sit there enjoying the marvelous view. This beautiful cottage has everything you could need in a holiday. We found everything in an outstanding standard. We are a small family with a 12 year old boy. He was so keen on the Wi-Fi (which is included!) to chat and play a little bit. The two bathrooms were beautiful very useful. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need but we had not cook a lot since we found a Weber barbecue in the shed. ;-) It works still in rain... (Scottish beef and lamb...hmmm, fabulous) Taigh na h-aibhne is more than just a holiday cottage, actually it is a real home. Margaret Pyper is a very attentive host - we were welcomed with flowers, wine, home-made marmelade and a call in the evening to make sure that everything was fine. We have not find a service like this before. Thank you, Margaret - we had an unforgetable week on Skye! Taigh na h-aibhne is close to Portree (approx. 5 miles) and ideal for exploring the island. We fell in love with this Cottage. We will recommend Taigh na h-aibhne to our family and friends and will return hopefully very soon. @ Margaret: Thank you for all, especially your recommendations (the Ouster Shed, the butcher in Portree, the Military Tattoo in Edinburgh [which was a splendid final of our holiday], etc.) Best wishes, Conny & familysee more
