Our 1100 square foot home was totally remodeled in January 2009. It is beautifully furnished in a tasteful and tropical décor. We created a spacious downstairs living, dining, kitchen area, and powder room. The upper level has two bedrooms each with a full shower. Our home sleeps seven with a king in master, and queen/twin combo in the back bedroom. A washer/dryer is conveniently located near the master. Just inside the front door, there is a bamboo 'cubby' for every member of your family - the perfect place to stow your towel, keys, and beach bag! You'll find flat screen HD TVs in every room with a Bose in-wall speaker system and dock for your iPod in the living room entertainment center. The kitchen, with its spacious granite peninsula, is well-appointed. GE Profile appliances (side-by-side fridge, icemaker, electric cooktop/oven, dishwasher and microwave). Cuisinart knives, champagne/wine glasses - completely outfitted for cooks! There is an herb garden just below our lanai. Help yourself! Our unit is located only 150 feet from the beach. Listen to the waves each night from the lanais as you watch the stars! The lower lanai is one of the few that has an external retractable sunshade awning providing welcome shade or shelter from the rain. An outdoor dining table and chairs makes this the perfect spot for morning coffee, a shady lunch, cocktails at sunset, or candlelight dinner. The upper lanai has two chaise lounges and a stunning view of the bay. We look out over the bay, the beach, and neighbor island Lanai to the south. We also have a view of the beautiful gardens, pool and gazebos. Covered and uncovered parking are just 15 feet from the front door - no stairs. At sunset, everyone gathers at the beach to watch the most spectacular sunsets on Maui. After sunset, the grills are the place to be ~ with guests sharing favorite recipes, restaurants, and island activities. Kahana Sunset is a special place where your family can share time together, make new friends, and create cherished memories. Most of our guests come back to our paradise year after year. We hope you will too!Hawaii tax#W5910799501

This is a beautiful unit! I have been coming to Kahana Sunset since I was a kid in the mid 70s and love this place. The grounds are kept up and are beautiful, the private beach is not at all crowded, and it was the first time I got to swim with sea turtles! You are only a few miles away from shopping and water activities in Lahina and Whalers Village to the south and great snorkeling and body surfing beaches to the north.
Great condos, great location, well kept up grounds. I strongly recommend Kahana Sunset.

The unit is beautiful and well designed. Beds are comfortable, if a bit high for short people. Everything was good except the refrigerator. Freezer was fine but couldn't get cold air into refrigerator part.
Maid service was supposed to be weekly I think, but was pretty minimal with no cleaning the first time.
Location of course is our favorite place in all of Maui. That's why we always go to Kahana Sunset. Other people there are very friendly too.

My husband and I brought our 2 year old daughter to this apartment in February. It is a very meticulously designed apartment with all the new mod-cons. It was wonderful to be able to make meals when we wanted and I loved the fact there was a washing machine where we could clean all our dirty clothes and towels whenever we wanted, unlike one can do when staying in a hotel. The apartment was very clean and is taken care with love.
My only complaint was that it rained a lot. We actually had to drive down to Wailea to get some sun. It seems that the location is in a valley and it catches the rains that comes and goes in 15 minute increments during the late morning.
When we were able to catch continuous sun, which tended to be in mid-afternoon - the private beach was wonderful. It is a small strip - but enough that there is room between you and the next group. We were able to see the whales in the distance and the turtles popping their head out of the water as they swam next to people who were enjoying the waves.
